What Kind of Cancer did Paul Reubens Have Revealed After One Month of his Death

Actor Paul Reubens, best known for playing Pee-wee Herman in 1980s children's films, died on July 30 at the age of 70 after battling cancer.



Disclosing this on his Facebook page on 30 july 2023, his team said: "Last night we said farewell to Paul Reubens, an iconic American actor, comedian, writer and producer whose beloved character Pee-wee Herman delighted generations of children and adults with his positivity, whimsy and belief in the importance of kindness. Paul bravely and privately fought cancer for years with his trademark tenacity and wit. A gifted and prolific talent, he will forever live in the comedy pantheon and in our hearts as a treasured friend and man of remarkable character and generosity of spirit".


What Cancer Did Paul Reubens Have?

Paul Reubens had been battling cancer for nearly six years, which he had kept private, his publicist said in a statement.

In a statement released before he died on 30 July, Reubens said, "Please accept my apologies for not making public what I have been going through for the past six years."  “I have always felt an immense amount of love and respect from my friends, fans and supporters.  I have loved you all so much and have enjoyed creating art for you.

A month after Paul Reubens death on July 30, his cause of death was revealed.  

Paul Reubens death certificate shows that he suffered from leukemia but was also diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer meaning Paul suffered from two kinds of cancer which led to acute hypoxic respiratory failure, which ultimately led to the life of Pee-Wee Herman.

He is best known for his iconic character Pee-wee Herman, a quirky and childlike man in a gray suit and red bow tie. Reubens created the character and first portrayed him in the stage show "The Pee-wee Herman Show" in 1980.

He gained widespread fame with his television series "Pee-wee's Playhouse," which aired from 1986 to 1991. Reubens has also appeared in numerous films, including "Pee-wee's Big Adventure," "Big Top Pee-wee," and "Pee-wee's Playhouse: The Movie."

Throughout his career, Paul Reubens has faced some controversy, but he remains a respected and influential figure in comedy and entertainment.
