Caleb Easterling of Louisiana Died in a Car Accident on Magnolia Bridge Road

A 19-year-old man, Caleb Easterling, died in a car accident near the East Baton Rouge-Livingston parish line on Wednesday.

Louisiana State Police said the accident occurred on Magnolia Bridge Road, between Greenwell Springs Road and LA 1019 at approximately 2:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Police officers said William Kox, 49, was driving a 1998 Dodge Dakota that was traveling east on LA 64.  At the same time, Easterling was traveling west on LA 64 in a 2009 Ford F-150 when William Kox crossed the center line and hit the F-150 head-on and, In addition, another vehicle traveling westbound on LA 64 struck the rear of a 2015 Dodge Charger F-150.



Caleb Easterling, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, was badly injured and was airlifted to a hospital where he died during treatment.

However, the drivers of Dakota and Charger have sustained moderate to severe injuries in the accident, they are undergoing treatment and are expected to survive.

The investigation of the accident is still under investigation.

Caleb Easterling was from Louisiana who was a standout player with outstanding performance in baseball.  After graduation, Caleb enrolled at Holmes Community College in Mississippi.
