- March 1, 2023
Studying Abroad is still a dream for many and it is considered to be a key to success if you finish your studies Abroad. But is it that easy to adapt to a new lifestyle after spending a quarter of your life in a different environment?
The experience of studying abroad can be thrilling, but it can also be challenging, particularly if you share housing. The number of Indians enrolling in overseas universities climbed from 4.44 lakh in 2021 to 7.5 lakh in 2022, according to data presented in the Lok Sabha by the Minister of State for the Ministry of Education Subhas Sarkar. Research demonstrated that after Covid, more Indian citizens were traveling abroad.
Why do Indians Prefer Ensuite accommodation?
Where they have several options such as sharing rooms or suite accommodation. Because it allows the students to have privacy and to be more hygienic. Living in a place where you will need to travel a lack of Kilometers to visit your family you have to make sure to be safe and hygienic through the process of education.
Due to the increase in students Studying Abroad, it is likely that there is a greater need for student housing overseas. Accommodations for international students typically include a variety of features, including studio apartments, shared bathrooms, kitchens, and kitchenettes.
Intriguingly, a recent survey by University Housing, a global student housing platform, found that 70% of Indian UG students choosing to study abroad select ensuite housing. 50.2 percent of Indian students Prefer Ensuite apartments, according to a separate survey done by UniAcco (a portal for student housing). Students can live independently in these flats and prepare their own meals because they often have a kitchen, bathroom, and living area.
It is important to have a strong say in your choice of accommodation. The reason behind this is it will help you to live conveniently in a cost-effective way and in a hassle-free manner.
Students who share housing also mentioned that while living alone provides you with more study time, living with someone else makes you less homesick.
The survey also reveals that, compared to 2021, there was a 60% increase in the need for accommodations. This is mostly because of the continuous housing crisis, the generally poor quality of student housing, as well as other difficulties like the project’s decreased viability, inflationary consequences, and capital arrangements.
