Based on the 2020 JAMB Policy Meeting recently held, the management of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) reach a consensus on what is to be the accepted JAMB Cut-Off Marks for the 2023/2024 Admission Screening Exercise.

It is not all the schools whose cut-off marks have been released, but some major schools’ cut-off marks have been released for now. JAMB Cut-Off Marks 2023/2024 for Universities and Polytechnics

As noted earlier, the cut-off marks have been released by JAMB for Universities, Polytechnic, and Monotechnic. 

The minimum cut-off marks suggested by JAMB for admissions into public universities, private universities, public Polytechnic, private polytechnics, and colleges of education are 160, 140, 120, 110, and 100 respectively.

• Public Universities — 160
• Private Universities — 140
• Public Polytechnics — 120
• Private Polytechnics — 110
• Colleges of Education — 100

Institutions are, however, at liberty to raise their cut-off marks for admission above the minimum set by JAMB.

So what is the cut-off mark?

Cut off mark is an agreed score set by a particular institution as a basics of admitting students into the department of study.  This score is usually accredited to candidates based on their performance in a particular examination. However, students who have scored above the required cut off mark will be given admission and preferentially treated in admission process above those who have met the exacts cut off mark.
