● Brief Shivpuran

Prepare the Kathamandap one day before the start of the Story. To observe the fast of fruits and flowers on all sides, the speaker should be shaved and adorned with beautiful chaidoves. On the days when the story is being told, and the flag is placed all around, one should try to decorate the whole morning with various items and perform the beautiful daily rituals briefly. Make it beautiful. The speaker should have an excellent devotion to Lord Shiva in every way to help him. The second is to establish the same scholar, the same law of joy in all ways. She is also going to do all kinds of doubts. May God be able to restrain Lord Shiva and be skilled in explaining that people should build a divine seat. For those who come to the story and for the storyteller, a divine seat should be made for them to worship Ganesha for the relief of the Vinos. Lord Shiva, the master of the story, may be pleasant. Those speakers and listeners who are wandering in the same kind of actions as the cow of desire for many embodied beings, who are endowed with the six disorders which give the desired fruit, such as lust, who are attached to women, who are insignificant towards the learned speaker. They do not share in the merit of birth in the world. who are many teachers because of worldly concerns and qualities. and worry about wealth, house and son etc. But in all of them only the learned who knows the Puranas and remains absorbed in the story, he is considered the supreme teacher. The Puranavetta is holy, pure-minded men attain the best fruits, skilled, calm, conquering envy, saint. The listeners who are faithful and devout, and should be kind. Such a discourse- do not mind other actions and silent, skilled scholars tell this pious story. Those who are holy and free from anxiety are the ones who share in merit.

A high pillared

Starting from sunrise, till three and a half hours, a learned man with perfect intelligence should live the story of Shivpuran in a proper manner. There is no right in listening to stories. So Mune! All those who wish to listen to the story should first take initiation from the speaker. Those who listen to the story according to the rules, they should live in celibacy, sleep on the ground, eat in a leaf and finish the story every day. Food should be taken only when it is available. One who has the strength, should listen to the best Shiv Puran with pure devotion by fasting till the end of the Puran. The man who observes the fast of this Katha should eat Havishyan food only once a day, in such a way that the rule of listening to the story can be done in the same way. A man fasting for a story should never listen to the story after eating coarse grains, pulses, burnt grains, beans, lentils, tainted and stale food. One who has taken the fast of story, that man should give up onion, garlic, asafoetida, carrots, intoxicants and things called abhish. The man who takes the vow of Katha should give up the six vices like lust, anger etc., blasphemy of brahmins and chastity and blasphemy of sages and saints. The man who is a storyteller should always adopt these virtues – truth, defecation, kindness, silence, simplicity, modesty and heartfelt generosity. Whether the listener is selfless or fruitful, he should listen to the story according to the rules. A successful man attains his desired desires and a selfless man attains salvation. Poor, tuberculosis patients, sinners, unfortunate and childless men should also listen to this excellent story. Kak-bandhya etc. which are of seven types

Ladies! In this way, at the end of the Yashotsav related to reading and listening to the story of Shivpuran, the listeners should worship the Puran book as well as worship Lord Shiva with devotion and effort. Donate food-money etc. to the Brahmins who have come there. Along with this, create a great festival through songs, instruments and dance etc. Mune! If the listener is disinterested, then on the day of the conclusion of the story, that Gita should be specially recited, which was said by Lord Shiva to Shri Ramchandraji. If the listener is a householder, then that wise person should do ablutions with a pure future for the peace of that avan-karma. Mune! It is appropriate to perform homam by every Lokdwara of Rudrasamhita or should be performed with Gayatri Mantra; Because in reality this Purana is Gayatrimay only.

● संक्षिप्त शिवपुराण

कथा शुरू होने के एक दिन पहले कथामंडप तैयार कर लें। चारों ओर फल-फूल का व्रत करने के लिए वक्ता को मुंडन कराना चाहिए और सुन्दर-सुन्दर जंजीरों से अलंकृत करना चाहिए। जिस दिन कथा कही जा रही हो और चारों ओर ध्वजा फहराई जा रही हो, उस दिन प्रात:काल को ही विविध वस्तुओं से सजाने का प्रयत्न करना चाहिए और सुंदर नित्य कर्मों को संक्षेप में करना चाहिए। इसे सुंदर बनाओ। वक्ता को भगवान शिव की हर तरह से मदद करने के लिए उनकी उत्कृष्ट भक्ति होनी चाहिए। दूसरा है एक ही विद्वान को, सब प्रकार से आनन्द के एक ही विधान को स्थापित करना। वह भी तरह-तरह की शंकाएं करने वाली है। भगवान शिव को संयमित करने में समर्थ हों और यह समझाने में कुशल हों कि लोग दिव्य आसन का निर्माण करें। कथा में आने वालों के लिए तथा कथावाचक के लिए विनोस के निवारण के लिए गणेश जी की पूजा करने के लिए उनके लिए एक दिव्य आसन बनाना चाहिए। कथा के स्वामी भगवान शिव सुखदायी हों। मुने! नियमित रूप से कथा सुनने वाले और विशेषकर शिव पुराण के ग्रंथ का श्रवण करने वाले श्रोताओं की भी विधिपूर्वक पूजा करनी चाहिए। फिर श्रेष्ठ सुन्दर स्थानों की व्यवस्था करनी चाहिए। बुद्धिमान श्रोता को चाहिए कि वह तन मन से पवित्र हो और दूसरों के लिए सादा स्थान रखकर प्रसन्न हो और आदरपूर्वक शिव पुराण का पाठ करे। जिसके मुख से कथा सुनी जाती है। वे वक्ता और श्रोता जो अनेक देहधारी प्राणियों की कामना रूपी गौ के समान कर्मों में विचरण कर रहे हैं, जो काम जैसे मनोवांछित फल देने वाले छ: विकारों से युक्त हैं, जो स्त्रियों में आसक्त हैं, जिनके प्रति नगण्य हैं सीखा वक्ता। वे संसार में जन्म के पुण्य में भाग नहीं लेते। जो सांसारिक चिन्ताओं और गुणों के कारण अनेक गुरु हैं। और धन, घर और पुत्र आदि की चिंता करते हैं, लेकिन उन सब में केवल वही विद्वान है जो पुराणों को जानता है और कथा में लीन रहता है, वही परम गुरु माना जाता है। पुराणवेत्ता पवित्र, शुद्धचित्त पुरुष श्रेष्ठ फल को प्राप्त करने वाले, कुशल, शांत, ईर्ष्या पर विजय प्राप्त करने वाले, संत हैं। श्रावक जो श्रद्धेय और भक्त हैं, और उन्हें दयालु होना चाहिए। ऐसा प्रवचन- अन्य कर्मों में मन न लगाओ और मौन, कुशल विद्वान यह पवित्र कथा सुनाओ। जो पवित्र हैं और चिंता से मुक्त हैं वही पुण्य के भागी हैं।

खम्भोंसे सुशोभित एक ऊँचा

सूर्योदयसे आरम्भ करके साढ़े तीन पहर तक उत्तम बुद्धिवाले विद्वान् पुरुषको शिवपुराणकी कथा सम्यक् रीतिसे बाँचनी चाहिये। मध्याह्नकालमें दो घड़ीतक कथा बंद रखनी चाहिये, जिससे कथा-कीर्तनसे अवकाश पाकर लोग मल-मूत्रका त्याग कर सके। सं० शि० पु० (मोटा टाइप) २-

सूतजी बोले- शौनक ! शिवपुराण सुनने का व्रत लेनेवाले पुरुषोंके लिये जो नियम हैं, उन्हें भक्तिपूर्वक सुनो। नियमपूर्वक इस श्रेष्ठ कथाको सुनने से बिना किसी विघ्न-बाधाके उत्तम फलकी प्राप्ति होती है। जो लोग दीक्षासे रहित हैं, उनका

कथा-श्रवणमें अधिकार नहीं है। अतः मुने! कथा सुननेकी इच्छावाले सब लोगोंको पहले वक्तासे दीक्षा ग्रहण करनी चाहिये। जो लोग नियमसे कथा सुनें, उनको ब्रह्मचयंसे रहना, भूमिपर सोना, पत्तलमें खाना और प्रतिदिन कथा समाप्त चाहिये । होनेपर ही अन्न ग्रहण करना चाहिये। जिसमें शक्ति हो, वह पुराणकी समाप्तितक उपवास करके शुद्धतापूर्वक भक्तिभावसे उत्तम शिवपुराणको सुने। इस कथाका व्रत लेनेवाले पुरुषको प्रतिदिन एक ही बार हविष्यान्न भोजन करना चाहिये जिस प्रकारसे कथा श्रवणका नियम सुखपूर्वक संघ सके, वैसे ही करना चाहिये। गरिष्ठ अन्न, दाल, जला अन्न, सेम, मसूर, भावदूषित तथा बासी अन्त्रको खाकर कथा व्रती पुरुष कभी कथाको न सुने। जिसने कथाका व्रत ले रखा हो, वह पुरुष प्याज, लहसुन, हींग, गाजर, मादक वस्तु तथा आभिष कही जानेवाली वस्तुओंको त्याग दे। कथाका व्रत लेनेवाला पुरुष काम, क्रोध आदि छः विकारोको, ब्राह्मणोंकी निन्दाको तथा पतिव्रता और साधु-संतोंकी निन्दाको भी त्याग दे कथाव्रती पुरुष प्रतिदिन सत्य, शौच, दया, मौन, सरलता, विनय तथा हार्दिक उदारता-इन सद्गुणोंको सदा अपनाये रहे। श्रोता निष्काम हो या सकाम वह नियमपूर्वक कथा सुने। सकाम पुरुष अपनी अभीष्ट कामनाको प्राप्त करता है और निष्काम पुरुष मोक्ष पा लेता है। दरिद्र, क्षयका रोगी, पापी, भाग्यहीन तथा संतानरहित पुरुष भी इस उत्तम कथाको सुने। काक-बन्ध्या आदि जो सात प्रकारकी

वे दुष्ट स्त्रियाँ हैं, वे और जिनका गर्भ गिर जाता है, वे सब शिव पुराण की उत्तम कथा सुनें। मुने! चाहे स्त्री हो या पुरुष- शिव पुराण की इस श्रेष्ठ कथा का श्रवण सभी को परिश्रम और विधिपूर्वक करना चाहिए

महयें ! इस तरह शिवपुराणकी कथाके पाठ एवं श्रवण सम्बन्धी यशोत्सवकी समाप्ति होनेपर श्रोताओंको भक्ति एवं प्रयत्नपूर्वक भगवान् शिवकी पूजाकी भाँति पुराण पुस्तककी भी पूजा करनी चाहिये । तदनन्तर विधिपूर्वक वक्ताका भी पूजन करना आवश्यक है। पुस्तकको आच्छादित करनेके लिये नवीन एवं सुन्दर बस्ता बनावे और उसे बाँधनेके लिये दृढ़ एवं दिव्य डोरी लगावे। फिर उसका विधिवत् पूजन करे। मुनिश्रेष्ठ ! इस प्रकार महान् उत्सवके साथ पुस्तक और वक्ताकी विधिवत् पूजा करके वक्ताकी सहायताके लिये स्थापित हुए पण्डितका भी उसीके अनुसार धन आदिके द्वारा उससे कुछ ही कम सत्कार करे। वहाँ आये हुए ब्राह्मणोंको अन्न-धन आदिका दान करे। साथ ही गीत, वाद्य और नृत्य आदिके द्वारा महान् उत्सव रचाये। मुने! यदि श्रोता विरक्त हो तो उसके लिये कथासमाप्तिके दिन विशेषरूपसे उस गीताका पाठ करना चाहिये, जिसे श्रीरामचन्द्रजीके प्रति भगवान् शिवने कहा था। यदि श्रोता गृहस्थ हो तो उस बुद्धिमान‌को उस अवण-कर्मकी शान्ति के लिये शुद्ध हविष्यके द्वारा होम करना चाहिये। मुने! रुद्रसंहिताके प्रत्येक लोकद्वारा होम करना उचित है अथवा गायत्री मन्त्रसे होम करना चाहिये; क्योंकि वास्तवमें यह पुराणा गायत्रीमय ही है।
