definite pronouns

a pronoun that refers to a person or thing near or far definite pronouns It is called because it indicates indicative Also called pronouns. like:

  • this is my pencil.
  • This is Meena’s dress, she is Sita’s dress.
  • That house is far away.

Difference and similarity between possessive and masculine pronouns

  • Sita went to market and He Bought a yellow frock.
  • This Frock is mine He Meena’s.

Both the sentences may sound almost identical but there is a big difference between them. In the first sentence only one person is being spoken so it is personal pronoun but in the second sentence as you know from the definition, the sense of far and near or sign is appearing in it so it is definite pronouns Is.

indefinite pronouns

A pronoun that does not refer to a certain person or thing is called an indefinite pronoun. like :

  • There’s someone outside.
  • I got nothing.
  • Somebody called me I don’t know who it was.
  • Someone knocked on the door and left.

In simple words, the above sentences are not definite about any person or thing, who is what, took what, who called, etc. Hence these are examples of indefinite pronouns. Keep this in mind that most of the indefinite pronouns when the pronouns such as someone, something, someone etc.

relative pronouns

The two pronouns which come in place of the noun to express the sense of relation are called relative pronouns. like:

  • This is the car you asked for.
  • I will do what you say.

interrogative pronouns
