Children’s strategies for learning

Types of strategies for children to learn come under child development and pedagogy. This includes strategies such as:

Six types of methods are included under this strategy:

  1. Discussion Method: Under this method there is an oral conversation between students and teachers on a topic. The discussion method develops thinking and communication power resulting in the development of a high level of cognitive and affective domain. This method is suitable for teaching all subjects except mathematics, art, music and dance.
  2. heuristic method : Under this method a teacher raises a problem in front of the student and also guides him. Students are able to problem solve after gaining knowledge through self-study, self-learning, investigation and research.
  3. search method: Under this method students find solutions to their problems from the environment around them.
  4. Project Method: Under this method, students are assigned a project related to real life experiences by forming a group. Students learn and solve real life problems in collaboration with each other.
  5. role playing method: Under this method students are assigned roles and students are allowed to play those roles.
  6. brain-storming: It is a creative method of teaching whereby many ideas are generated to solve a specific problem.
