Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, formerly Sathyabama University, is a private deemed to be university, situated at Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

The university is in Sholinganallur about 15 km from Adyar in Chennai. It has a campus of 400 acres. The university is located on Rajiv Gandhi Salai (formerly known as Old Mahabalipuram Road and popularly known as IT Corridor).

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.

Competition Details

To celebrate 75 years of Independence Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology will be organizing a competition for School Students on August 4, 2023. There is no registration fee.

Eligibility

Students in classes 6 to 12 are eligible to participate.

Theme

Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE) to engage individuals in mitigating the adverse effects of climate change.

Competition Categories

Speech

• Focus on Individual Behaviours.
• Harmful effects of single-use plastic.
• Sustainable modes of transportation.
• Consciousness about wastage of water.

Project Model

• Scalable ideas for change on a global level.
• Implementing smart energy consumption.
• Creating products from waste.

Drawing

• Clothes recycling.
• Reducing food wastage.
• Importance of urban farming.

Rules

• Maximum of 2 batches for each competition from a school.
• For Project Model competition maximum 3 participants per batch. Students should send the project description through given email. Projects will be shortlisted for final demonstration based on merit.
• For drawing competition, only A3 size chart will be provided and other requirements to be brought by the participants.
• Speech competition is in English.
• Merit certificates and prizes will be provided to all winners.
• Certificates will be provided for all participants.
