1) The Supreme Court upheld the constitutional validity of the 103rd amendment to the Constitution providing 10 percent quota for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in government jobs and educational institutions.
2) Eminent art critic and scholar in fine arts Vijayakumar Menon passed away at the age of 76.
His important books include Adhunika Kaladarsanam, Ravivarma Padanam and Bharathiya Chitrakala-Irupatham Noottandil.
3) Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the ‘Baji Rout National Football Tournament’ in Dhenkanal in Odisha.
