6) Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) successfully designed & conducted the Cyber Security Exercise “PowerEX” for 193 invited Power Sector Utilities.
The theme for the exercise is “Defending Cyber induced disruption in IT & OT infrastructure”.

7) President Droupadi Murmu flagged off the extension of the Guwahati-Kolkata-Guwahati train up to Agartala and that of the Agartala-Jiribam-Agartala Jan Shatabdi Express up to Khongsang of Manipur from Agartala station.

8) The Indian women’s trio of Naamya Kapoor, Vibhuti Bhatia, and Esha Singh clinched bronze medal in the 25m Pistol Team Women Junior event at the ISSF World Championship.

9) India finished fifth with one gold, one silver and two bronze medals at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Championship Shotgun in Osijek, Croatia.

10) The Supreme Court delivered a split verdict on a batch of pleas challenging the Karnataka High Court judgment refusing to lift the ban on hijab in educational institutions of the state.
While Justice Hemant Gupta dismissed the appeals against the HC verdict, Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia allowed them.

11) Badminton legend Prakash Padukone has been awarded the Sports Journalists’ Federation of India (SJFI) medal for 2019 at a warm ceremony at the Karnataka State Cricket Association.

12) The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved a new electric vehicle policy and set a target to procure 73 lakh metric tonnes of paddy.The Cabinet also gave its nod to develop a “Shani parikrama path” in the holy city of Mathura to attract more devotees.

13) International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is observed every year on October 17 to spread awareness of the issues related to poverty and the violation of the rights of human beings.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of International Day for the eradication of poverty.
The theme for International Day for the Eradication of Poverty 2022 is “Dignity for all in practice”.

14) President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated a supercomputer facility at the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, Assam.

15) Apoorva Srivastava, presently Consul General of the Consulate General of India in Toronto has been appointed the next Ambassador of India to the Slovak Republic.
