Accelerate Your Migration And Modernization With Azure

Many businesses resorted to the Cloud last year to endure the pandemic’s interruptions. Businesses are now defining their recovery path and boosting their cloud momentum in order to accelerate quicker app creation, reduce infrastructure costs, and improve security posture. According to a recent poll, 90% of organizations expect cloud usage to surpass previous projections as a result of COVID-19.

To withstand potential business interruptions, organizations are turning to the cloud. Microsoft collaborated with organizations of all sizes to help them take benefit of the cloud’s scalability, virtual office enablement, and cost reductions. Microsoft anticipates that customers will continue to use cloud investments to fine-tune and reinvent their digital strategy, focusing on remote productivity, security, and sustainability.

Azure Migration and Modernization Program (AMMP)

AMMP is intended to meet the clients’ migration and modernization needs throughout their whole infrastructure, app, and data estate. This is why, a few months ago, Microsoft upgraded the Azure Migration Program (AMP) to AMMP, adding capabilities for application and data modernization.

Azure Migration and Modernization Program (AMMP) now supports new scenarios

In response to customer demands, Microsoft announced support for more scenarios in AMMP:

  • Infrastructure –

AMMP is being expanded to assist clients in planning and migrating their SAP infrastructures to Azure, including SAP lift-and-shift as well as SAP HANA deployments.

  • Applications –

Microsoft is focusing more on app modernization in two areas –

    • Red Hat OpenShift Azure – As part of their application modernization ambitions, AMMP will now assist customers in migrating their Red Hat OpenShift deployments to Azure.
    • Cloud-native applications – AMMP will assist companies in innovating and developing new cloud-native apps by leveraging standard app patterns such as serverless, containers, as well as microservices architectures.
  • Security and hybrid –

Customers frequently mention hybrid flexibility and increased security posture as essential for their cloud migration. AMMP will assist customers with applying AZ Arc to workloads that aren’t yet scheduled or ready to migrate, allowing them to manage their workloads uniformly across cloud and on-premises settings. Microsoft is increasing its security focus in AMMP by providing guidance and implementation support for services like Azure Security Center and Azure Defender.

As of now, SAP is available in AMMP. With these features, AMMP is now a single complete software for all of our clients’ migration and modernization needs. Get AZ-400 training right away.

Improved migration and modernization tools and product capabilities

Azure Migrate serves as the focal point for discovering, assessing, right-sizing, and migrating apps, databases, as well as infrastructure to Azure. AZ Migrate has announced the introduction of two new functionalities: agentless discovery & assessment of ASP.NET web apps, plus app containerization tool extension. These are to include AZ App Service as a deployment destination in addition to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

Microsoft previously released AZ Automanage – AZ service that simplifies and improves virtual machine administration for Windows Server and Linux.

They have now announced the general availability of two major technologies in Azure Automanage—Extended network for AZ & SMB over QUIC—to make migration of Windows Server-based workloads easier.

Azure SQL is a cloud database family that offers various choices for migrating and modernizing application databases. Microsoft Ignite unveiled a slew of new AZ SQL Managed Instance features, including premium class hardware, Windows authentication, and 16 TB of storage capacity—all of which improve speed, scale, and flexibility. The new link feature in AZ SQL Managed Instance reinvents SQL Server database replication to allow mission-critical workload movement with little downtime.

The Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework for Azure’s Azure landing zones are intended to assist clients in effectively preparing their cloud infrastructures for migration or upgrading. Microsoft created the AZ landing zone accelerator, which delivers an easy AZ portal-based deployment experience, to make creating AZ landing zones even easier.

Microsoft has launched a new Azure Virtual Machines cost calculator, which includes a Power BI template and an on-premises computing unit list, to assist clients in optimizing their AZ investments. This estimate is available to all clients as part of their cloud economics and Cloud Adoption Framework guidelines.
