UGC Urges To Observe Dec 11 “Bhartiya Bhasa Utsav” 2022

A series of events are being planned as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the 75th anniversary of our independence, with the aim of upholding the spirit of the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat initiative, according to a recent notice from the UGC. The UGC requested this from all the educational institutions with which it has affiliations.

In this regard, it has been decided to memorialize Mahakavi Subramania Bharati, a multilingual freedom fighter, on December 11th of each year with the “Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav” in honour of his Janma Jayanti. The Utsav is planned to include a variety of exciting, entertaining, enjoyable, and visually appealing events that will happen all day long. In order to ensure that at least 1 crore students participate in the Utsav, approximately 1 lakh HEls, colleges, INIs, and schools are being urged to volunteer.

In the notice, it is instructed that “You are requested to plan a day-long event in your institution to commemorate the “Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav” on December 11th, 2022. This event should include a variety of indicative activities, such as an exhibition on the Bharatiya Bhasha, Bharatiya Bhasha Stalls dedicated to each language of a specific state or region, cultural programs based on the classical history of the area, wearing ethnic attire, and writing/eloc

“Campaign “My Language, My Signature” (RT 4TT, ZNI FATHT), Tech Zone, a collection of cutting-edge amenities and facilities showcasing various tools and software that students may use to learn, read, and write in multiple languages, is a celebration of multilingual students.”.

To promote our country’s rich cultural unity, it is requested that all higher education institutions (INIs) organize a grand “Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav” on December 11, 2002, and encourage “language harmony” among students and youth of the society. Depending on the level of celebration and participation, the festival’s or Utsav’s size may vary.

In order to increase resources, the festival may be organized as a component of programs like “Ek Bharat. Shreshtha Bharat,” “Rajbhasha Samiti,” or any other that may be appropriate. The promotion of “Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav” may be effectively planned to include social media engagement and media buzz-building. To encourage student participation in the Utsav, the HEIs/INIs may also think about awarding certificates, prizes, or academic credits.

To organizing the event at their respective institutions, the HEls/ANIs are asked to designate a nodal officer. Please submit the name of the nodal officer, his phone number, and email address, as well as information about the event being planned to honour “Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav,” on the University Activity Monitoring Portal (UAMP) at uamp.ugcacin, preferably by the following day.
