UP News: The hearing was held in the Allahabad High Court on Tuesday on the special appeal filed by the commission against the decision of a single bench to cancel the result of the PCS 2021 preliminary examination of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission. In today’s hearing, it was argued on behalf of the UP Public Service Commission that according to the law, reservation has been given to ex-servicemen in PCS recruitment. However, the debate in this matter could not be completed today. The court has fixed August 23 for hearing the matter. Significantly, the UP Public Service Commission has filed a special appeal in the Allahabad High Court against the order of the single bench canceling the preliminary examination result. A single bench of the High Court had quashed the preliminary examination result of PCS-2021 on the ground that the benefit of five per cent was not given to the ex-servicemen. Whereas the commission has also completed the interview after conducting the main examination.

Let us inform that Junior Warrant Officer Satish Chandra Shukla and three others had challenged the declared preliminary examination result of PCS-2021 by filing a petition. It was said in the petition that despite the notification issued by the UP government, the ex-servicemen were not given reservation in this recruitment examination. The single bench of the Allahabad High Court had canceled the result of the preliminary examination in its order after hearing it. In its decision, the court had ordered to release the results afresh. The UP Public Service Commission has challenged the decision of the single bench by filing a special appeal.
