Padang Payakumbuah Restaurant Comes to Enliven the Franchise Industry , Padang cuisine is one of the favorite cuisines in Indonesia, even the rendang itself is one of the world’s best foods. So Padang restaurants are increasingly mushrooming in Indonesia. Almost in every corner of the region there is a Padang restaurant. From there he and his colleagues were inspired to establish Payakumbuah Restaurant which serves Minang specialties with authentic flavors. Under the banner of PT Rasa Muda Makmur (Akang Group) Arief began to tread the business world.

The business he founded was no joke. He really seriously prepared everything to present a classy restaurant. Starting from the authentic taste, using raw materials imported directly from Minang land ranging from chili, coconut, and rice, including the cook.

In fact, before officially launching this restaurant, his party had also conducted research on Padang cuisine from various regions and the most delicious restaurants in West Sumatra until he found the most suitable taste to be used as a menu at RM Payakumbuah.

Not only that, to add to the authentic impression, the ambience of the restaurant that was built did not escape the nuances of West Sumatra with a modern touch so as to create a comfortable atmosphere.

“The specialty of RM Payakumbuah is the authentic taste of West Sumatra but slightly adapted to the tongue of the people here. For example, rice in West Sumatra is characterized by silver rice while here it is fluffy rice. So, we make it in the middle, not too silver and not too fluffy,” said RM Payakumbuah CEO Redinal Rizki Yudaswara.

Some of the signature menus that are a favorite of visitors include dendeng batokok Rp25,000, talua barendo Rp20,000, salai smoked fish whose raw materials are brought directly from West Sumatra Rp15,000, tunjang Rp24,000, rendang Rp21,000, flush skin crackers Rp15,0000. For the dessert and beverage menu, the favorites are Es Durian Rp20,000, Kopmil (milo coffee) Rp20,000, talua tea Rp10,000.

“These authentic Minang menus are favorites here, especially dendeng batokok, salai fish, talua barendo, talua tea, kopmil funds that cannot necessarily be found in other Padang restaurants,” he said.

The man who is familiarly called Inal said that his party continues to evaluate and improve the quality of the menu as well as the system and service so far many positive responses have been received from visitors. It is not uncommon for people to have to queue to taste the special menu from RM Payakumbuah. Even in one month they can record a turnover of Rp1.7 billion.

Seeing this development, the management was determined to be more expansive. At least this year RM Payakumbuah will have 3 branches located in BSD, Karawaci, and will soon open Payakumbuah Restaurant in Gading Serpong. As for next year, it plans to open 2 outlets per month or 24 outlets in one year in the Jabodetabek area

“We offer a partnership or franchise system for business people who want to start a Padang restaurant business without having to start from scratch. Of the 24 outlets, 20% are owner-developed and the rest are from partnerships,” he said.

For potential investors who are interested in becoming business partners, RM Payakumbuah offers a business opportunity with a package worth Rp1.45 billion including a brand license for 5 years, training and mentoring services, training and initial raw materials, marketing activation, uniform costs, and so on.

However, the cost does not include renovations, furniture, and operational costs, rental of premises with a minimum area of 300 square meters, and billboard permits so that the overall estimated cost to be prepared reaches Rp 4 billion.

According to Inal, monthly turnover is at least Rp1.1 billion to Rp1.8 billion with a BEP period of less than 2 years. “For those who want to join as partners, we will conduct screening because what we are looking for is not only financially strong but also have the same vision and mission so that the brand that is built will grow in the future,” he explained.

Inal hopes that in the next 10 to 20 years RM Payakumbuah will have 1000 branches that are not only open throughout Indonesia but also overseas as well.
