School: Powerhouse of Education and More

“What did you learn at School today?”

If you think naming a subject, title of a new chapter, or result of an experiment is the answer to the question, then you are mistaken.

The idea of studying in a school is centered around the subjects you learn and excel in. But, after spending half a day at a school, with students from all over the city, sometimes even countries, don’t you think you must be Learning something other than the formulated curriculum?

Schools have a syllabus to complete. The curriculum is designed in such a way that students are keen on learning more. However, there is a lot more you learn at school, other than mandatory subjects.

Chrysalis high is driven by the vision to prepare students for life and not focus on Examinations and marks.

So, apart from knowledge, what else do students stand to gain from school that is a powerhouse of education?

Learning Through Sports

Sports introduce students to failure and success. The harder you practice, the better you perform in order to have the opportunity to compete in national-level competitions, constant practice, and improvement.

Chrysalis High designed Chrysalis High Amateur to Masters in Performing Arts and Sports (CHAMPS). Through CHAMPS, coaches guide students towards building their sporting spirit, skills, and talents in sports like basketball, football, tennis, skating, and martial arts.

Learning Through Performing Arts

Performing Arts is a form of expression. Students find a voice and passion through dance, music, and theatre. New brain research shows that not only does music improve skills in math and reading, but it promotes creativity, social development, personality adjustment, and self-worth.

Chrysalis High Amateur to Masters in Performing Arts and Sports (CHAMPS) includes contemporary dance, western music, and theatre under performing arts. Parents are involved from time to time in the process of holistic development of the child. If any child wishes to pursue any of the activities as a career choice, the child is guided in exploring options available in the country & globally.

Learning From Responsibility

Being a part of the school cabinet, actively participating in events, and contributing behind the scenes, helps students learn through experience. Taking responsibility also means being accountable when things don’t go the right way. Experiences like these, in school, are beneficial because teachers and peers are always guiding you.

Learning From Friendship

While in school, students communicate and connect with classmates, out of these conversations, emerging friendships. Some for life, some maybe not. But these friendships and connections will help students not only make memories while in school but learn from others.

Learning Important Life Skills

The process of preparing for a drama, musical, or an art show might be daunting, but the rewards are numerous. Children get to express themselves freely without worry or fear of doing the right or wrong thing. This aids their progression while equipping them with the necessary life skills for the outside world, as students are continually getting critical feedback, both optimistic and constructive.

Additionally, skills such as mastering emotions are learned. These skills enable them to understand the world and people better, helping them navigate and experience healthy relationships with other people.

Conclusion

Brain development is moulded by continuous, supportive relationships; responsive communications; and productive behaviours. The brain’s capacity develops the most fully when children and youth feel connected, engaged, and challenged.

The mind opens to learning when learning is social, emotional, and academic. Positive relationships, including trust in the teacher, and positive emotions, such as interest and excitement, also contribute here. Learning involves more than merely acquiring knowledge in mathematics or chemistry. This kind of boxed thinking gives very little room to the ways that children need to grow and learn in their relationships, identity, emotional understanding, and overall well-being.

STEaM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) is a highly regarded methodology. But the CHAMPS methodology is equally beneficial to students. Chrysalis High offers both and many more programs for the holistic development of students.
