India's great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan was born on 22 December 1887 in Madras. On the occasion of his birthday, National Mathematics Day is celebrated all over the country. The topic which most of the students consider difficult, was the favorite subject of Ramanujan. His full name was Srinivasa Iyengar Ramanujan. Let's know about them,
  • The great mathematician had made the theorem at the age of 12
  • Ramanujan had not been able to speak for 3 years, the family members were troubled
  • Apart from mathematics, Srinivas Ramanujan used to fail in all subjects

Ramanujan is counted among the great mathematics thinkers of modern times. During his lifetime, he made a profound contribution in the areas of mathematics analysis and Number theory. He loved mathematics since childhood. He started doing historical work in this subject at an early age. He had mastered trigonometry when he was 12 years old. At the same time, he made several theorem on his own without any help.
Ramanujan received scholarship to study at Government Arts College, but later he could not get the benefit due to poor performance in other subjects. You will be surprised to know that he did not learn to speak until he was three years old. When he could not speak till the age of 3 years, the family members started worrying if he was dumb.
Ramanujan was so fond of mathematics that he used to bring all the numbers in mathematics and he failed in other subjects. When he was 13 years old, he made Professor S.D. L. Study of Loni's world famous book on Trigonometry and created Mathematical Theory.
Ramanujan's biography 'The Man Who Knew Infinity' was published in 1991. A film has also been made on Ramanujan by the same name. Actor Dev Patel played Ramanujan in this film. Ramanujan is still an inspiration not only for Indian but also foreign dignitaries.
Hardy-Ramanujan Number
One of Ramanujan's greatest contributions to mathematics is the Hardy-Ramanujan number. The story goes something like this. Ramanujan's condition deteriorated after going to England. Meanwhile, while going to the hospital, an interesting incident occurred which became history. Once G. H. Hardy went to meet Ramanujan at the hospital, told that he came from a taxicab whose number was 1729. Hardy called the cab number boring, to which Ramanujan immediately said, 'No, it is not boring but a very interesting number. This is the smallest number that can be written as the sum of two cubes in two different ways. ' Since then 1729 has been called the Hardy-Ramanujan number in his honor.

He received many honors from the Government of India for his contribution to Mathematics and also held an important position in the Mathematics Society. In this way Ramanujan wrote many new mathematical formulas and the special thing is that he did not take any special training to learn mathematics. He told many things about mathematics. He died on 26 April 1920 at the age of 33 due to TB disease.
