The Early Medieval Period in India lasted from 600–1300 CE. During this time, kingdoms in the north and south of India flourished and frequently changed hands. This period also saw the formation of regional cultural units, such as Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bengal, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu.
