Biography of Khabib Nurmagomedov

Khabib Nurmagomedov is a Russian martial artist who retired in 2020. He is known for his record of 29 wins in a row and unbeaten in mixed martial arts (MMA).


Childhood and early life

Khabib Nurmagmedov was born on September 20, 1988, in the remote village of Kirovol in Russia. His father's name was Abdulmanap Nurmagmedov. Khabib was his father's second child. Abdulmanap Nurmagmedov was an athlete and experienced in war. Khabib's elder brother's name was Mogamed and younger sister's name was Amina.

 

Khabib was interested in wrestling from a very young age. Then he started training for wrestling. He also started judo classes when he was 15 years old. His father thinks that Khabib must be taught to compete in G-jackets.

 

At just 17 years old, his father started training him in wrestling. They then moved to Kiev, Ukraine, where he continued his training.

 

Career

Khabib start his MMA journey in September 2008. And within a few days he won four matches. He then won the Atrium Cup Championship in Moscow. Then in a few years he confirmed 12 more consecutive wins. His victory in the 2009 m-1 global debut was significant.

 

He debut in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) after winning 16 matches in a row. Then in 2011 he participated in the UFC Lightweight division. He won against Kamal Shaloras, Gleason Tibau, Thiago Tavares, Rafael Dosh Anos and many more.

 

The most important match of his life was on October 6, 2018 against McGregor. Where he defeated McGregor in the fourth round. And won his lightweight title.

 

Khabib fought the last battle of his career in October 2020. Where he defeated his opponent Justin Gethej. He then retired from the UFC. Khabib has not lost a single match out of the 29 matches he has played in his life.

 

Trivia

Khabib Nurmagmedov was known as 'the eagle'. Khabib is a football fan and a very good friend of Cristiano Ronaldo. Khabib loves his religion Islam very much. Khabib is an icon of today's youth.
