Here is the latest good news about Salary increase of teachers next year, Gov’t employees to enjoy 15% salary increase under SSL 5 – Salceda.
Government personnel are expected to enjoy 15 percent salary increase in the next three years under the proposed Salary Standardization Law 5 (SSL 5).
House Committee on Ways and Means chair Joey Salceda (Albay) said the Governance Commission for GOCC and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) have recommended to spend P110 billion for the salary adjustment of civil servants including nurses and teachers.
Under the 2020 budget alone, government will spend P32 billion in wage increase and P4 billion for miscellaneous benefits.
The Albay solon stressed that lower salary grade employees will benefit more from the upcoming wage hike.
“It will favor SG 1-17 with higher increases while those in SG 18-33 including the President and Congressmen will receive lower increases,” said Salceda.
Salceda said these have been programmed within the organic capacity of the government and need no new taxes to underwrite it.
According to Salceda, the adjustments will preserve and somewhat improve the purchasing power of civil servants considering the consumer price inflation of 3.4 percent over the past three years.
