Intuit For Education Initiative Aims to Empower 50M Students with Financial Literacy

According to a recent survey, 85% of US high school pupils want to learn about finance in school. Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU), the global financial technology platform behind Intuit TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, has launched Intuit for Education, a new financial literacy program that offers free personal and entrepreneurial finance courses to high school teachers and students. The Intuit Hour of Finance Challenge encourages schools to dedicate one hour to financial education during Financial Literacy Month in April.

Intuit for Education, a free financial literacy program for US high school educators, provides a flexible and interactive curriculum with real-world resources. Intuit for Education offers comprehensive personal and entrepreneurial financial courses, as well as interactive classes and simulations that use Intuit products like TurboTax, QuickBooks, Credit Karma, and Mailchimp. The organization hopes to prepare kids to make wise financial decisions by offering educators with simple materials for teaching critical skills such as budgeting, saving, credit management, and basic financial understanding. By 2030, Intuit hopes to have helped 50 million students become financially literate, empowered, and confident through the usage of Intuit for Education material.

Intuit for Education provides over 150 hours of configurable curriculum and supports educators with free live and on-demand professional development, such as webinars and podcasts.
Intuit for Education has launched the first-ever Intuit Hour of Finance Challenge, encouraging schools to dedicate one hour to financial education during Financial Literacy Month (April). The challenge includes plug-and-play lesson plans based on Intuit for Education curriculum, as well as an online game that teaches important financial concepts like taxes, credit, and investments.Intuit Prosperity Quest is an interactive online game that engages kids in financial education.

This nationwide challenge allows schools to compete for a celebration valued up to $25,000, $50,000, or $100,000, depending on the size of the school.

Intuit conducted a study of 2,000 high school students in the United States between March 15 and March 25, 2024, to better understand their experiences and relationships with personal finances. The survey found that 95% of students who receive financial education at school find it beneficial, and 85% of all high school students polled want financial education at school.
