Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future - Paul Boese

King Pal had a huge kingdom and people in his majesty were happy with the kind of development and services they were offered. But there was something that the people were not happy about. The King had a pink of perfection in every matter. No mistakes were entertained in his rule. Day by day King's anger rose and the punishment for mistakes got severe.10 Pit bulls were trained to kill people and were brought in the kingdom. Anyone does wrong and he was handed over to these dogs. This level of punishment had shaken everyone around. His ministers were trying hard to find a solution to end this cruelty.

One day Sameer, the most intelligent minister committed a mistake and he was sentenced to the dogs. Sameer pleaded to the king, that he has served his Kingdom for so many years and he should be given a chance. To this, the King rose in anger and said I will not be biased to the people of my kingdom whether its a common man or a Minister, whoever commits a mistake has to bear the punishment. Sameer requested the King to fulfill his last wish. Thinking about the good work Sameer did in his entire tenure as a Minister, the King said, "Tell me what is your last wish?".

Sameer said, I want you to give me 10 days and nothing else. King agreed and left. Sameer went missing from next day, King got worried thinking whether he would return or not?

The 11th day arrived, Sameer stood in front of the King and said that he was ready for the punishment. King ordered his servants to take Sameer to the dogs and he himself would reach there in sometime.

Sameer  was brought in an open area surrounded by huge walls. From one end Pit Bulls were entered in the open area and from the other end Sameer was sent in. The 10 furious dogs instead of attacking were licking Sameer. Everybody was shocked. The king asked Sameer whats happening here? These dogs are trained to kill, why are they being kind to you?

Sameer smiled and said, I have spent last 10 days serving these dogs. I use to feed them, bathe them, play with them and love them. This changed their attitude towards me. I have been serving your kingdom from so long but haven't changed. A single mistake and you punish people for lifetime.

The King was taken back by this incidence. He changed his outlook towards perfection and started treating his people with generosity.

There are many such relations in our life who have done so much for us, but a single mistake by them and we simply go ahead and disconnect ourselves with them. Life is small and lets us learn to forgive each other and spread kindness around ☺
