Government Medical College Jagdalpur, (GMC) also known as Late Baliram Kashyap Memorial Government Medical College, Dimrapal Jagdalpur, India aims to provide high-quality medical assistance to the people belonging to various tribes in the district of Bastar. It is the sole hospital within the range of 300 kilometers to provide terminal health care along with necessary and progressive medical assistance. The National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has contributed immensely to support the College and Hospital.

History

Late Baliram Kashyap Memorial Government Medical College was inaugurated by DR Raman Singh on August 28, 2006. Another landmark achievement was the inauguration of the College Hospital by the Honorable President of India, Shri Ram Kovind Ji on July 26, 2018. The first batch of the College Hospital consisted of 50 MBBS students. Later this number was increased to 100 MBBS students with appropriate permission.

Admission process and requirements

The GMC, Jagdalpur requires certain eligibility conditions to be met for admission. The aspirants keen to apply must appear for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG and apply based on the score attained provided they have obtained more than the minimum qualifying percentage.
