Little Angels’ goal has been to provide the Airdrie community with daycare, preschool, and kindergarten priced for the working parent that creates a completely nurtured experience for Children. We have strived to provide the highest quality of childcare with our more intimate setting amongst experienced caregivers. And now, Little Angels is proud to announce that we are a fully accredited daycare! 

What is Alberta Child Care Accreditation?

Accreditation reinforces quality child care settings across Alberta through an outside agency. It is a voluntary process available to daycare centres once they have received an operating license. Based on standards derived from current research and high Standard practices, Alberta child care accreditation promotes the provincial licensing regulations and family day home standards for children from the age of birth until 12 years. Child care accreditation standards are defined by excellence, meaning they are above mandatory provincial requirements. Safety is ensured along with making sure the children, their families, the community, and the child care staff are taken care of. Reaching accreditation is an achievement that must be sustained daily. The Accreditation certificate is issued for a term of 3 years and includes several requirements that must continue to be met to maintain this status including continued quality improvement. 

The Process 

• To enroll in accreditation services, child care programs must first hold a license.
• Working under the requirements of the Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulation, foundational requirements must be met for the health, safety, and developmental needs of the children under care. 
• Child care programs must meet compliance with the Safety Codes Act, the Public Health Act and the Institution Regulation.
• Becoming accredited includes insightful self-evaluation and quality enhancement activities.
