HOW TO CREATE A GROUP ON FACEBOOK 

Facebook groups are free to join and the best part is that you could also create your own Facebook Group related to your interests and attracts the audience to join that group. Here we will be going to discuss the step by step process on how to create a group on facebook. 

• In order to create a Facebook Group, you need to first login to your Facebook profile by entering your email id/phone number and password if you already have a facebook profile otherwise you could easily create a new facebook profile. 

• Once you reach your Facebook “News Feed” then on the above tabs you will see an option create next to “Home” under which you will find a drop-down menu to select whether you want to create a group, page, ad, event or marketplace listing as shown below; 

• So if you want to create a Facebook group then simply click on Group and you will see a dialog box screen where you will enter the initial details your group as shown below; 

•  You also need to select the privacy of the group according to your preferences like whether you want it to be public, the secret or closed group. 
• Here you could also add your initial participants by entering their names to add participants and facebook will invite them to join your group. 

TYPES OF FACEBOOK GROUPS

There are two types of groups of facebook that you need to know before you start your own, 

• Public Group – Public group is the one that anyone on facebook could join without any restrictions. Once you click the join button you will be added straight away without any further questions. 
• Closed Group – Closed group is the one with restrictions as compared to Public Group, here the admins of the group have to right to moderate the entries and posts on the group, here admins could manually approve or reject the participants or the posts added by the participants on the facebook group. 

GET READY TO CUSTOMISE YOUR FACEBOOK GROUP

Once you have entered your initial facebook group setup information then your group will set up and you will be able to see your group as shown below;

For reference I have created a facebook group with the name “Test Group” but you could enter any name as per your preference. 

It is very important if you want to attract more and more participants to join then you need to add an interesting and eye-catching profile picture and a cover photo so that your group looks authentic and genuine.

One of the most interesting points that you need to remember here is that anyone will join only if they know about what your Facebook group is all about and for that you need to provide your audience with a brief description so that it will help them to make a decision to join your group rather than coming to your doorstep and went away. 

Therefore try to add the required information in the about section. 

The success of any Facebook Page or Facebook Group depends on the daily activity and how many people are engaged on a daily basis on that group so if you are able to attract the participants that would be willing to share and post on your group the relevant information about the niche of your group without spamming the audience then that will help you build a greater network in the near future.
