PUNE: The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and industry (FICCI) FLO (FICCI Ladies Organisation) distributed six scholarships to support six female agriculture students through the Agriculture College studying the bachelor’s degree (four years) and bachelor’s nursing degree through the Lila Poonawala Foundation, a statement issued by the organisers said.

The students were presented with the scholarships at the hands of wife of cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sakshi. She said that, “To be a part of such a prestigious platform and to get a chance to support a cause that is very dear to my heart, was as an honour. It served as a motivating factor to see the smile on the girls faces and that speaks volume of the work done here at FICCI Flo Pune chapter.”

She also stressed the importance of how a woman should be self reliant and also move up in personal and professional life. Ritu Prakash Chhabria, chairperson FLO Pune Chapter, Pramod Rasal, Dean of Agriculture College and the six meritorious students were present.

“The success of a woman lies in giving her a good education, to create a holistic development and inculcate entrepreneurship skills which makes her sustain a better livelihood,” said Chhabria. Rasal appreciated the initiative that FLO has taken towards empowering young aspiring students for providing this scholarship.
