Wildlife Sanctuaries are areas which have been set aside for protection of specific animals or birds.
For example, Mwaluganje National Reserve in Kwale County is an Elephant Sanctuary. Tana River Primate Reserve is a Baboon and Monkey Sanctuary where species not found in other parts of Kenya are kept. Also Lake Baringo Reptile Park where various types of snakes are kept.
