Eligibility Criteria for Mazagon Shipbuilders Recruitment

Candidates hoping to apply for the non-executive posts announced by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd should meet the eligibility criteria set.

Educational Qualification

The Educational qualification required to apply differs from post to post.

1. For Composite Welder: 8th standard & National Apprenticeship Certificate examination passed in the trade of Welder / Welder (G&E).
2. For Fitter: SSC or any equivalent examination.
3. For Structural Fabricator: SSC or any equivalent examination
4. For Fire Fighter: SSC or equivalent with Diploma/ Certificate in Fire Fighting
5. For Electric Crane Operator: SSC & the National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination passed in Electrician trade

Age Limit

• The minimum age to apply for the exam is 18 years.
• The maximum age to apply for the examination is 38 years.

Age Relaxation is applicable as per government norms.

1. Relaxation in upper age limit is 3 years for OBC (NCL) and 5 years for SC/ST candidates as per
2. Relaxation in upper age limit for persons with disability (40% and above) 10 years for General candidates, 13 years for OBC candidates and 15 years for SC/ST candidates as per Govt. Rules.
3. Employees who have worked in MDL on Fix Term contract basis shall get age relaxation of 5 years over and above the other relaxations.
4. Ex-servicemen who have put in not less than 6 months’ continuous service in the Armed forces of the Union will be given relaxation in age to the extent of period of service plus 3.
