India’s first solar probe is scheduled to launch on September 2.

  • In its latest announcement, ISRO plans to launch Aditya-L1, India’s first space program to explore the Sun, from the Sriharikota space station in Andhra Pradesh on September 2 at 11.50 am.
  • ISRO has announced that it will use the PSLV-C57 missile for the Aditya L1 programme. The spacecraft is designed to position the satellite in a halo orbit around the “Lagrange point L1” of the Sun-Earth system, nearly 1.5 million km from Earth, and carry out observations.

The President of India released a 100 rupee commemorative coin in honor of NTR.

  • President of India Murmu released a commemorative coin of Rs 100 on the occasion of the centenary of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NT Rama Rao at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Center in the national capital New Delhi on August 28.
  • President Murmu said that Padma Shri NT Rama Rao, who enriched the Indian cinema and language culture through Telugu films, received various awards through his efforts and he is proud to dedicate this valuable work to honor him and admire his energy.

NBCC has entered into an MoU for the development of IMA House cooperation.

  • NBCC India has on August 25 signed an MoU with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) for planning, designing and renovation of IMA House in New Delhi.
  • It is notable that this MoU was signed under the leadership of IMA National President Dr. Sharad Kumar Aggarwal and NBCC Chief General Manager (Engineering) Pradeep Sharma.

The Union Minister has launched the world’s first 100% ethanol fueled vehicle.

  • Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari launched the world’s first 100 percent ethanol fueled car in New Delhi on August 29, with the main objective of reducing overall carbon dioxide emissions and improving fuel efficiency in vehicles.
  • The Union Minister said that this initiative has been taken with the aim of reducing the carbon footprint in the country, promoting sustainable mobility and reducing the country’s dependence on traditional fuel sources.

Saudi Arabia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote cooperation in the mining sector.

  • Saudi Arabia and Turkey have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on August 28, 2023 to enhance cooperation in the mining sector of both countries.
  • The MoU aims to strengthen exchange of management expertise between the two countries in drilling technologies, mineral exploration, geological services and other fields.

A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the UAE and China to promote Arabian horse breeding methods.

  • The Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chinese Arabian Horse Society on 28th August 2023 with the aim of enhancing their cooperation and strengthening its professional mechanisms in raising the status of Arabian horse breeding.
  • It is said that this agreement will play a major role in improving the methods of providing various services to horse and cattle breeders and their owners according to the highest international standards.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired the West Zone Council meeting in Gandhinagar.

  • Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired the 26th General Meeting of the Western Zone Council on August 28 in Gandhinagar, the state capital of Gujarat. At the same time, it is significant that the Union Minister has also introduced the e-resources website of the Council Secretariat among the states.
  • The meeting was held with the aim of promoting the three main objectives of nationally important POSHAN Abhiyan, Ayushman Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya scheme to every poor and reducing school dropout.

India’s first UPS Technology Center inaugurated in Chennai

  • Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the country’s first technology center of US supply chain management and multinational shipping company United Parcel Service (UPS) in the state capital Chennai on August 28.
  • Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chief Minister Stalin said that he will keep the trust reposed in Tamil Nadu by these institutions and take steps to boost the state’s economy through such institutions.

Geetika becomes the first woman to head the Indian Embassy in Pakistan.

  • Geetika Srivastava, a 2005 batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, has been Appointed as the new Charge d’Affaires(CDA) in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad, according to a recent notification by MEA.
  • She will succeed the incumbent Dr M Suresh Kumar and is the first woman to head the Indian Embassy in Pakistan since independence.

Umesh appointed as new Chairman of FIDC.

  • In a recent announcement by the company, Umesh Ravangar has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Financial Industry Development Council (FIDC), the main body representing NBFCs providing asset and debt financing in India.
  • He has been selected by the Board of Management in the recently held Corporate Management Board held in Mumbai. It is reported that he will hold this post for two year terms. It is significant that he is currently working as the Executive Vice-Chairman of Shriram Finance Company.

Maheshwari was appointed as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Procter & Gamble India.

  • Mukta Maheshwari has recently been appointed as the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Procter & Gamble India, the maker of consumer products company Whisper, Ariel and Gillette.
  • He will take over the responsibility of the company from September 1, the company said in a notification issued on August 28. It is significant that he has been appointed to this post after the promotion of the current Sharad Verma.

Tripathy was appointed as new CEO of Shell India.

  • India’s renowned auto maker Maruti Suzuki has appointed Schneider executive Arnab Roy as the company’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in its latest announcement.
  • It is reported that he will assume this responsibility on October 16. The appointment has been made as the current CFO of the company, Ajay Seth, comes to an end on December 31.

Abhijit Sethi appointed as Chief Operating Officer of Howden India.

  • Global insurance brokerage Howden has appointed Abhijit Sethi as the Chief Operating Officer of its India operations, it said in an announcement on August 29.
  • The appointment has been made with the aim of improving the company’s business operations across the country, overseeing employment and streamlining processes, the company said.
