BSF has launched ‘Dani-Pani’ initiative to save birds and animals from heat.

A Deal worth Rs 500 crore has been signed to improve the information technology of the army.

  • The Ministry of Defense has signed a Deal for procurement of 1,035 equipment with Hyderabad-based ICOMM Tele Limited on June 15, 2023 in New Delhi to upgrade the “Information Technology” of the Indian Army.

  • According to the Deal, 1,035 scale of 5/7.5 tonne radio relay communication equipment containers worth Rs 500 crore will be procured.

“Five Development Projects” have been taken up in the DG level cooperation conference between BSF-BGB.

  • The 53rd Director General’s Border-wide Coordination Conference between India’s Border Security Force (BSF) and Bangladesh Border Police(BGP) held on June 14 approved Five Development Projects.

  • This agreement is aimed at ensuring border security between the two countries and reducing cross-border terrorism.

India is participating in AIAF in France for the first time.

  • India will participate in the Annecy International Animation Festival (AIAF) in France this year for the first time, the central government has announced.

  • It is also reported that an Indian pavilion designed on the theme of Saraswati Yantra will be inaugurated during this festival. Information and Broadcasting Secretary Apoorva Chandra said that this festival will be a platform to showcase Indian creativity to the world.

India’s largest power generation company NTPC has been ranked 433rd in Forbes’ 2023 list.

  • India’s largest public power generation company, National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), has climbed 52 places to rank 433rd in Forbes International’s latest Global 2000 data for 2023.

  • It is notable that the company was ranked 485th in last year’s list and this rise shows that NTPC is emerging as a strong force in the global market, the Ministry of Power said.

India’s seafood exports hit an all-time high this year.

  • India’s seafood exports, both in terms of “volume and value”, are set to reach an all-time high in the country’s history in 2022-23.

  • India exported 1.7 million tonnes of seafood worth Rs 63,96,914 crore (USD 8.09 billion) during the fiscal year at the latest, the report said. This high shows a growth of 26.73 percent in volume terms and 4.31 percent in value terms in 2021-22.

The World Bank has launched its first dedicated road safety project in “South Asia”.

  • The World Bank has announced the launch of its first dedicated road safety project in South Asia with a USD 358 million financing agreement signed on June 14 in Dhaka with the Government of Bangladesh.

  • The World Bank announced that the project aims to improve road safety, reduce fatalities and injuries from road accidents, and repair high-risk highways and district roads.

State news

5 structures from Telangana shortlisted for International Green Apple Awards for Beautiful Structure.

  • Five buildings and structures from Telangana have been selected for the “International Green Apple Awards” for Beautiful Buildings under the urban and real estate category from London-based private and non-profit named The Green organization .

  • An official release stated that this is the first time the country has received these prestigious Green Apple awards for building and architecture and Telangana is the only state to have received all five awards.

Niwari district has emerged as the second “Har Ghar Jal” district.

  • Niwari district in Madhya Pradesh has become the second Har Ghar Jal district in the state. Har Khar Jal is a scheme to provide piped water to all households in a district, becoming the second district to fully implement the scheme.

  • All or 55,645 households in 253 villages in Niwari district have 100 percent piped water supply. It is also significant that the Burhanpur district of the state has the honor of being the First Hargar Jal district of the country.

MoU signed between SJVN and MAHAGENCO for “Energy Project Development”.

  • Maharashtra State Power Generating Corporation (MAHAGENCO) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with state-owned hydropower company SJVN to develop “5,000 MW of Renewable energy development projects” in the state.

  • According to SJVN, the project aims to promote various advanced and renewable projects in Maharashtra including hydro, pressurized storage, solar, wind and green hydrogen projects.

  • Motilal Oswal Group Selection Board on June 14 appointed “Sukesh Bhowal” as CEO of Home Finance ltd.

  • With over 27 years of experience in business management, sales and retail lending, he will enhance the work of Home Finance to further expand and improve its operations.

Lt Gen Rajiv has taken over as the Commander of the “Kashmir-based Chinar corps”.

  • Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai assumed command of the Sinar corps based in Tactical Kashmir on 15 June 2023.

  • It is said that he will take necessary additional steps to jointly work with the citizens for peace and development in Kashmir.

Rameshwar Prasad Gupta appointed as Chairman and Managing Director of SECI.

  • Rameshwar Prasad Gupta, a 1987-batch and retired former IAS officer from the Gujarat Cadre (CADRE), has been appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Solar Energy Corporation of India for two years.

  • The SECI management said that through this appointment, he will improve the sector by addressing the grievances of the company.

Anurag Goel has been appointed as the new Chief Electoral Officer of Assam.

  • The Central Government has mentioned in its official statement that Indian Civil Service Officer Anurag Goel has been appointed as the new Chief Electoral Officer of Assam.

  • It is said that he will conduct all the upcoming elections in Assam “Efficiently and Perfectly”.

A recent report suggested that “Viking disease” may have been inherited from a gene inherited from Neanderthals.

  • In Northern Europe many men over the age of 60 suffer from the dreaded viking disease. For those who have this disease, the symptoms of the fingers and toes are bent and there is a lot of anger.

  • Researchers from the Karolinska Institute in Molecular Biology and Evolution have found that the ancestors of people with the disease may have inherited a gene from Neanderthals.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2023

  • World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is observed on June 15 every year with the aim of protecting the elderly from mental, physical and emotional abuse. And this day was officially established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2011.
