Three schemes worth Rs 8000 crore have been launched for “Disaster Recovery Management” in the country.

Introduction of “Y-Break” initiative in office workplaces of the country.

  • The AYUSH Ministry has introduced an initiative called “Y-Break” in the office workplace. This means that it has been introduced with the aim of creating “Refreshment and Refocusing” during stressful times in the workplace, the Ministry of AYUSH said.

  • It has been mentioned that through this initiative work balance will be created in the offices and the central government has urged to use these initiatives in the offices of all the departments of the country.

Accredited as “Athi Uttam” by Geological Survey of India Training Institute (GSITI), Hyderabad.

  • The Geological Survey of India Training Institute (GSITI) under the Ministry of Mines has been accredited by the National Board of Education and Training (NABET). This certification is awarded for excellence in “Services and Quality”.

  • This assessment is based on various stages of development, all standard operating procedures and methodological studies. Accreditation with this highest standard has been granted with evaluation conducted by the Skill Development Commission (CBC), NABET and Quality Control of India.

A former CJI of India has launched a public-aid Indian legal app.

  • Former Chief Justice of India M. N. Venkatachaliah on June 10 launched a multilingual “Indian Legal App”.

  • The best thing about this legal app is that it can be used in 6 languages including “English, Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Gujarati and Marathi”. It is designed in a great way for citizens to get “Legal help” from the comfort of their homes and a “Legal Helpline” number has been linked to it in case any information is required.

International news

More than 40% of women in Bangladesh are married before marriageable age.

  • More than 40 percent of women in Bangladesh are married before the age of 18, according to data from the Bangladesh Sample Vital Statistics 2022 recently conducted by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics.

  • The report stated that the number of girls marrying before the marriageable age of 18 increased from 32.4 percent in 2021 to 40.9 percent in 2022.

Guwahati Railway Station has been awarded the ‘Eat Right Station’ certificate.

  • Guwahati Railway Station in Assam under North East Frontier Railway Department has been awarded “Eat Right Station” certificate by FSSAI for providing high quality and nutritious food to passengers.

  • The station has got the status of being the first railway station to get this status under North Eastern Railway Division which has got the guidelines and qualifications established by FSSAI.

The third G20 Framework Working Group meeting began in Kochi.

  • The Third Framework Conference under India’s G20 chairmanship began in Kochi, Kerala on June 13. This conference is scheduled to be held for 2 days.

  • The aim of the conference is to create a shared understanding of the policies of the member states and to explore ways of promoting global cooperation for the domestic efforts of countries.

The Delhi government has given in-principle approval to the “Food Truck Policy”.

  • Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on June 13 approved the “Food Truck Policy” in principle.

  • The Chief Minister said that the approval was given with a view to making the national capital the ‘Food Truck Capital’ by realizing the immense potential of the food truck industry and through growth in the industry, employment generation and its positive impact on the overall economy.

Madhya Pradesh government has decided to transfer Rs.6423 crores in farmers’ bank accounts.

  • The Madhya Pradesh government has transferred Rs 6423crores in farmers’ bank accounts at the Kisan-Kalyan event in Rajgarh and the chief minister has inaugurated the Mohanpura-Kundalia pressure pipe irrigation system project built at a cost of Rs 8481 crore.

  • The amount is a campaign project that the state government had already announced and the pressurized pipeline system is one of the largest projects in the world.

Arunachal Pradesh government has launched an app called “ArunPol”.

  • The Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh on June 14 launched the ‘ArunPol App’ of the state police and flagged off an awareness vehicle for the same from the state secretariat in Itanagar.

  • The chief minister said that this app is designed with the aim of common people to “submit their complaints to key police officers without having to visit the police station”.

Appointments

Shri Uttam Lal assumed charge as Director at “NHPC”.

  • Uttam Lal has taken charge as Director, Labor Division of NHPC, the company said in an official statement on June 13.

  • It is notable that prior to this appointment he was serving as Chief General Manager (HR-CSR/R&R/LA) of NTPC. With this appointment, it is mentioned that he will improve several departments of NHPC.

The RBI Governor received the “Governor of the Year” award.

  • Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das has been awarded the ‘Governor of the Year’ award by the Central Bank of London, England.

  • The central bank said the award was given for his pioneering reforms of the Reserve Bank, overseeing world-leading payments innovation and leading India through tough times with a consistent and well-designed strategy.

Shyam and Hari Bhartia have received the “Global Leadership Award” from the American company.

  • The US-India Business Corporation (USIBC) has honored Shyam and Hari Barthia, co-founders of the Jubilant Bhartia Group, with this year’s Global Leadership Award 2023.

  • The USIBC Chairman said that the application of deep scientific knowledge and ethics combined with business practices has elevated this Indian group to the global stage.

Vinay Addagiri & Suresh Nagala awarded “Young Entrepreneur Award” in Telangana.

  • Vinay Addagiri & Suresh Nagala, Director of Aertsen Living, have been awarded the “Young Entrepreneur Award 2023” by the Telangana State Government and Vande Bharat Foundation.

  • The Telangana State Government said that the award has given this significant recognition to their exemplary achievements and decisions taken for the development of a vibrant sector.

Gold for India at the U-17 Asian Wrestling Championship.

  • India ended its run at the Asian Under-17 Wrestling Championship with one gold, three bronze and three silver medals at the finals held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on June 13.

  • India’s Ankush won the country’s only gold medal after defeating  Iran’s Amirreza Ali Teymorizad in the 55 kg category.

Economic news

First Indian stock to touch “Rs 1 lakh”.

  • After opening at ₹99,500 per share on the BSI, MRF became the “First Indian stock to touch one lakh rupees” by crossing an all-time high of ₹1,00,300 per share in morning trade on June 13.

  • Notable that, the stock has surged 45 percent in the past one year against a gain of 19 percent in the previous ratings survey, which has seen the company’s strong profit base.
