The Tamil Nadu government has announced that all TN Electricity Consumer has to link their Aadhaar number with the Electricity Connection. To link these details, the government has announced the last date but now the last date to link these details has been extended.

In November 2022, The TN government has made the above-mentioned announcement. According to the TN Minister of Electricity, Mr. V. SenthilBalaji’s report as of now a total of 2 crores 59 lakh consumers has linked the Aadhaar with the electricity connection. Today (15.02.2023) is the actual last date to update the Aadhaar details but the last date to link these details has been extended to 28.02.2023 (Tuesday).
The consumer who has failed to update these details can use this last-date extension to link the Aadhaar details to the electricity connection. The last date has been extended due to the server cable issue in the TANGEDCO site. Due to the fault in the site, the consumers cannot update the details on the website today. To avoid server issues the board has extended the last date to link the details.
