The government of India has launched an indigenously-developed AVGAS 100 LL

  • Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri has launched AVGAS 100 LL, a special aviation fuel meant for piston engine aircraft and unmanned ariel vehicles.
  • AVGAS 100 LL has been developed by Indian Oil Corporation.
  • Hardeep Singh Puri has said that the launch of indigenous AV GAS 100 LL is important to serve the needs of a thriving aviation industry with increase in footfall at airports, rise in number of aircraft and Flying Training Organisations (FTOs) in trainee aircraft for pilot training in future.
  • India would soon become self-reliant in AVGAS 100 LL production. India’s consumption of AVGAS 100 LL stands at around 3,000 kilo litre per year. IOCL has been importing this special aviation fuel. Now it will start producing it at its refinery in Gujarat.

Indian government introduces “Sign Learn” app

  • Indian government released the “Sign Learn” app, a 10,000-word lexicon for Indian Sign Language (ISL).
  • Pratima Bhoumik has launched this app “Sign Learn” app.
  • Indian Sign Language Research And Training Centre (ISLRTC) have serves as foundation for Sign Learn.
  • ISLRTC and NCERT collaborated to launch 500 academic words in Indian Sign Language for the“Sign Learn”

Tamilnadu cabinet approves online rummy Bann law – Govt announcement that scheme will be implemented soon!!!

  • The Cabinet led by Chief Minister Stalin has approved an emergency law to ban online gambling games including online rummy in Tamil Nadu.
  • The government of Tamil Nadu has announced that the Emergency Act will be implemented soon after getting the Governor’s approval.
  • The Tamil Nadu government has drafted a bill to bring in a new law after listening to the opinions of experts and the general public.
  • In this case, the Tamil Nadu Cabinet meeting was held 27th sep 2022 morning under the leadership of Chief Minister Stalin. An emergency law to ban online gambling games including online rummy has been approved in the cabinet meeting.

Gautam Adani slips to third spot in billionaires ranking

  • According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index data updated,Indian billionaire, and Adani Group’s Chairperson Gautam Adani, who recently overtook Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and become the second richest man in the world.
  • Now he slipped to the third position on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. With this, Jeff Bezos has again reclaimed his second place by a narrow margin on the top billionaires’ list.
  • Gautam Adani has lost $6.9 billion dollars which took him to the third position.
  • Tesla chief executive officer Elon Musk continues to retain his first position with a wealth of $245 billion ( ₹19.93 lakh crore).

  • Ashish Srivastava has been appointed as an adviser of the Inter-State Council Secretariat in Ministry of Home Affairs.
  • Presently Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser in Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
  • He is a 1992 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre.

The government of India has appointed an additional secretary to the Ministries

  • Jaideep Kumar Mishra will be the new additional secretary and financial adviser to the Ministry of Health and Family
  • Nitishwar Kumar has been appointed as additional secretary and financial adviser in the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
  • Ranjana Chopra will be the new additional secretary and financial adviser in the Ministry of Culture.
  • V Radha has been named as an additional secretary in the NITI Aayog.
  • Rajendra Kumar is currently serving as an additional secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology
  • V Hekali Zhimomi has been appointed as additional secretary in the Department of Health and Family Welfare.

Economic News

S&P projects India’s FY23 GDP growth at 7.3%

  • S&P Global Ratings projects India’s economy to grow by 7.3% by end of the FY23 fiscal.
  • High oil prices, a slowdown in global demand for the country’s exports, and multi-year high inflation are seen as the causes of downward pressure on economic growth.
  • The rating agency predicts India’s CPI inflation at 6.8% for the current fiscal.
  • In its Economic Outlook Asia-Pacific Q3 2022 report, S&P said, “We expect India’s GDP to grow by 7.3% in the fiscal year 2023 compared with 7.8% three months ago”.

Bronze figures of dog, deer and goat found in excavations at Adichanallur!!!

  • Work on a world-class museum at Adichanallur near Srivaikundam, Thoothukudi district is in full swing.
  • Excavation work is going on after selecting three locations in Adichanallur Parambu area.
  • Another discovery in this excavation is a bronze figure of a dog, a deer, a goat, a water fowl, a fish bait pin, a knife with a wooden handle, and an iron sword.
  • So far more than 85 ancient artifacts such as shawls, iron objects, gold earring, gold headband(tanganetripattayam), Sangam period habitations have been recovered from that places.

Archaeological object have been discovered at the foothills of Karadipatti in Madurai district!!!

  • Evidence of an ancient iron ore mill has been found at the Karadipatti foothills near Vadapalanchi village, Tiruparangunram circle, Madurai district.
  • Underground excavations yielded antiquities such as black and red pottery, ivory and ornaments used by the Sangam people.
  • Also, traces of an ancient iron smelting plant were found in the archaeological mound.
  • If excavation is conducted, Archaeologists have said that many ancient objects can be found here.

Actress Asha parekh to be conferred Dada Saheb Phalke Award

  • Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur made the announcement, actress Asha Parekh to be conferred Dada Saheb Phalke Award for the year 2020.
  • Minister Anurag Thakur also announced that the 68th National Film Awards will be held on the 30th of this month to be presided over by President Droupadi Murmu.
  • Asha Parekh is a renowned Hindi flim actress, director and producer and accomplished Indian classical dancer.
  • Parekh was awarded the Padma Shri in 1992. She has also served as the head of the Central Board for Film Certification from 1998-2001.

Bharti Tamil Sarathi Award was given to Madurai Kamaraj University Tamil Department Professor !!!

  • Sathyamurthy, Head of the Department of Tamil Studies, Madurai Kamarajar University, Director of the Center for Tamil Cultural Heritage.
  • He has been awarded the “Bharathi Tamil Sharathi Award” at “BainthamilBharti’sAmuda Tamil Festival 2022”.
  • This award has been given in recognition of his literary work and his international efforts for the development of Tamil.

A machine that laughs like humans is invented in Japan!!!

  • Research into replacing humans with human machines is ongoing in Japan
  • Subsequently, robots are being designed to think and speak like humans
  • As the next step in this effort, a robot that laughs like humans has been developed by Kyoto University in Japan.
  • The talking robot is named Sophia and the laughing robot is named Erica.

World Rabies Day

  • Every year World Rabies Day is observed on September 28.
  • World Rabies Day aims to increase awareness about rabies prevention, its effect on human and animal rabies, how we can prevent it quickly, and how to eliminate its sources worldwide.
  • The celebration of World Rabies day began in 2007,it coincides with the death anniversary of Louis Pasteur, a French chemist and microbiologist who invented the first effective vaccine against rabies.

  • This year, on World Rabies Day 2022, the theme is “Rabies: One Health, Zero Deaths,” and it focuses on achieving the “Zero by 30” goal and also the fact that dog-mediated human rabies elimination is possible.
