Annie Besant Scholarship programme has been introduced for the PhD. Students at Banaras Hindu University, it has been launched to encourage the university’s top-notch students, and the candidates can apply for it after their post-graduation, and 5th August 2022 will be the last day to apply for the scholarship.

BHU Program- Under the Institution of Eminence, the university has launched the program. And the last year, students of postgraduate can apply for the scholarship. Moreover, they should be in the top five percentile with a minimum of 8.5 CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average).

The candidate has to complete their PhD thesis program within four years from the date of joining. The chosen students will be provided JRF with contingency similar to CSIR/UGC during their PhD duration.

Although, if the candidates do not qualify for the JRF/NET (UGC, CSIR, INSPIRE, etc.) exams in their second year, then the university shall reduce the scholarship up to 50 per cent of the JRF rate. The university will not provide top-up scholarships if the students get PMRF at any phase.
