Ahmadu Bello University is located in Zaria, Nigeria. It was established in October 1962, and it was previously known as University of Northern Nigeria. The university was named after Sardaunu of Sokoto, Alhaji Sir Ahmadu Bello. The school operates two campuses which are Samaru (main campus) and Kongo in Zaria. Few kilometers from the main campus, it has a Pre-degree school. The Samaru campus hosts the administrative offices and faculties of arts and languages, environmental design, agricultural sciences and research facilities. The Kongo campus hosts the faculties of law and administration.

University Introduction:
When it was established, the university had four faculties that comprised of 15 departments. The students were 426 in total. It currently runs more than 14 faculties. It has a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs. Additionally, it has a large medical program with its ABU teaching Hospital, which is one of the largest teaching hospitals in Nigeria and Africa.
Faculty:
The various faculties in the school include Faculty of Administration, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Environmental design, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of law. Faculty of Life science, Faculty of Pharmaceutical science, Faculty of Social Science, Faculty of Physical Science, and Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The Faculty of Medicine was upgraded to College of Medical Sciences in 2018 with 5 faculties. The 5 faculties include Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Basic Clinical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Dentistry and Allied Health Sciences.
Campus Life:
The university provides Wi-Fi access. The school has a student affairs division. The administrative nerve of the student affairs division is the office of the dean. There are two deputy deans working under the dean, one in the Samaru main campus and the other in the Kongo campus.
Accommodation:
Accommodation is available both on campus and off campus. The hostels are located within the school. Students have study facilities and amenities readily accessible. This includes water, electricity, classrooms and libraries.
