As lockdown has wreaked havoc on theatres which usually used to see many people thronging to watch their favorite movie stars on the big screen, OTT’s have made a major role in providing the new movies and web Series directly to the user.

With many OTT providers that are accessible in India such as Netflix, Disney + Hotstar, Amazon prime video, MX Player, Zee5, Sony Liv, etc a movie or a TV series fan is never short of content.

In the month of August, as announced on various OTT devices we are bringing you the list of Movies and Web series that are or soon will be released on the OTT platforms.

1. Khuda Hafiz

Starring Vidyut Jammwal and Shivaleeka Oberoi in lead roles, Khuda Hafiz is a romantic thriller movie which is released on Disney + Hotstar and has various fight sequence that makes the viewer at the edge of their seat.

The film is written & directed by Faruk Kabir and produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak. Released on August 14 the film was one of the movies that have skipped theatrical release.

2. Sadak 2

The sequel to Sadak, Sadak 2 marks the return of Mahesh Bhatt which stars Pooja Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles is all set to be released on Disney + Hotstar on August 28, 2020.

The return of Mahesh Bhatt brings the Sadak cast with new additions of Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapoor where the new ones will be playing the central characters but Sanjay will be unfolding a plot of the powerful mafia. Sadak 2 trailer was released recently and it has received more dislike to like a percentage.

3. Class of ‘83

Class of ’83 marks the return of Bobby Deol which is a Crime Drama movie that is all set to be released on Netflix and is set to be released on August 21, 2020. The movie is being produced by Red Chilies Entertainment and directed by Atul Sabharwal.

The film is based on Sayyed Yunus Hussain Zaidi book ‘The Class of ‘83’ where Bobby Deol plays the role of Dean Vijay Singh who is a cop-turned-educator and teaches his students about being a special cop force.

4. Masaba Masaba

Masaba Masaba is a scripted series on real-life moments of the real mother-daughter duo. It gives the life moments of Masaba Gupta who is the daughter of Neena Gupta, her unique background, diverse worlds, straddles in family, and her foray into the entertainment world. The series is set to be released on Netflix and the date being August 28, 2020.

5. Abhay 2

The first season of Abhay received rave reviews where a young cop played by Kunal Kemmu battles his inner demons and also solves some of the complicated cases. 

The second season sees Kunal battling even powerful demons and is said to star cast Ram Kapoor, Chunky Panday, and Bidita Bag in negative roles. The series released on Zee5 on August 14 and is now available to stream.

6. Mee Raqsam

The Zee5 series with an ensemble of a cast featuring Naseeruddin Shah, Aditi Subedi, Danish Husain and Shraddha Kaul in the lead roles is all set to be released on August 21 where the movie highlights the story of a father who battles patriarchy and faux values forced by the religion and help his daughter to pursue her career in classical dance.

7. Bebakee

Bebakee is the series that is collaboration with Alt Balaji and Zee 5 features Kushal Tandon, Karan Jotwani and Shivjyoti Rajput in prominent roles.

The story is based on unbreakable friendship, love, brotherhood, and hate and is a romantic series where we will see the character in a triangular love story and each person will be dealing with an altering emotion. The series will be released on Zee5 on August 25.

8. The Gone Game

The new show from Arjun Mathur features Karan Mehra, Sanjay Kapoor, Sweta Tripathi, and Shreya Pilgaonkar which is one of the first Indian web series shot with keeping social distancing in mind and all actors have shot the series from their home. This interesting crime drama series is all about a murder mystery. The series is all set to release on Voot on August 20.

9. Aashram

Directed by Prakash Jha, the series stars Bobby Deol in the lead role and not much is known about the series as of now, but the reports suggested it might be on the life of Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insaan.

Apart from Bobby Deol, it also stars Chandan Roy Sanyal, Aaditi Pohankar, Darshan Kumaar, Adhyayan Summan, Anupria Goenka, and Tridha Choudhury and is set to be released on MX Player on August 28, 2020.

10. Bhanwar

The series features Karanvir Bohra and Priya Banerjee and was shot during the tough times of Coronavirus with only 6 people on set. Directed by Deepak Pachori the show revolves around the concept of time travel with a layer of suspense, mystery and drama. The series will be released on Zee5 on August 18, 2020.
