During the last months of 2019 and since the start of the year 2020, SARS COV-2 aka Covid-19 aka Novel Coronavirus has affected people from over 199 countries and cruise ship passengers.
It has affected over 730,000+ patients killing 34,000+ people from various continents. And all the researchers are finding out who might be the reason for the outbreak to happen on a large scale.
Tracing out the patient zero or the first-ever patient to get the new strain of the virus was a task and according to the latest reports, the authorities in China have traced out the person who was the first-ever patient or patient zero of the novel coronavirus. The documents also say that the first case might be very early as in November that it might have started.
According to documents from South China Morning Post (SCMP) a leading news agency, the Chinese government first detected the case of Covid-19 on November 17, 2019, and it is said the first-ever patient to be infected was a 57-year-old woman from Hubei province.
The 57-year-old was a shrimp seller in Wuhan Wet Market which is infamous to sell various live animals for consumption and is said to be the place for Coronavirus outbreak. It is reported that the Wei Guixian, the patient zero is on the road for full recovery after a month-long treatment. She believes that the Chinese Government could have checked the spread of the disease if they had acted sooner.
She further mentioned how she felt initially where she believed that she had common flu and went to a local clinic for medication. However, she felt sicker the next day and she checked into Eleventh Hospital in Wuhan a day later. Again after a day or two, she felt more sick and lethargic, which is when she visited Wuhan’s largest hospital Wuhan Union Hospital on December 16 where she checked into with the symptoms of Coronavirus which many from the Wet market had associated with.
At the end of December, Wei was quarantined when they saw her symptoms matched to the symptoms of novel coronavirus said a Chinese media outlet. The local Wet Market has been closed indefinitely after the spread of the virus. We believed that the virus might have got into her body system from a toilet which she shared with several meat sellers in the market. She said that several vendors who were present in that Wet market.
