The 2014 Noble Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai met Swedish climate change activist Greta Thunberg at Oxford University where they were spotted chatting.

Yousafzai, 22 who is currently studying at a prestigious British college, is known to have empowered women to study and she was the one who survived from the bullet shot by the Taliban in Swat district in the year 2012. After recovering, she has been an activist for the right to education for females and has been awarded Noble Peace Price for her work towards encouraging education to females worldwide.

Thunberg, 17 who became a global icon for her speech on Climate change started her climate crusade in the year 2018 where she used to protest outside the Swedish Parliament every Friday, skipping school.

After meeting Yousafzai, she posted a photo with a caption saying “She’s the only friend I’d skip school for.”

And Thunberg said “So . . . today I met my role model. What else can I say?”

Greta Thunberg was invited by Oxford University to speak about her activism alongside Yousafzai where she spoke about science, voting, the limits of protest, divestment, real zero vs. net-zero and much more, said Oxford building Principal Alan Rusbridger.

Speaking about the meeting between Malala and Greta, British TV personality Piers Morgan tweeted “What a photo … the two most influential young women of my lifetime meet in Oxford,” he continued the tweet saying “More power to their formidable courageous elbows.”
