Call it Jamal-Time! Numbers explain how clutch Murray is

Jamal Murray disputed a fourth period mind-blowing to give his Denver Nuggets 2-0 in the Conference Final against the Los Angeles Lakers.

A final Quarter from 24 points (compared with 23 total for the yellow-viola) with 6/7 from the field, 4/5 from three and 7/8 at the free. For the fourth time over the course of his career he scored at least 20 points in the fourth quarter of a Playoffs game. It has not happened in 25 years; the two who have come closest are Allen Iverson and Michael Jordan, capable of this feat twice versus Murray’s four.

In the two quarter periods played so far in the series, Murray has scored 31 points while LeBron James and Anthony Davis stop at 28 as a pair. The Nuggets guard is also the only player, along with Stephen Curry, to score more than 100 points in the last quarters of these Playoffs.
