Peter Thiel-Great Personalities

Peter Thiel is a German-American entrepreneur. He made several companies and he was also the first outside investor in Facebook and he acquired 10.2% of the company. His net worth today is estimated to 9, 4 billion dollars.

Peter Thiel first started working as a security lawyer in NY but he quit the job seven months later. Then he worked as a derivatives trader and as a speechwriter. He soon noticed how powerful the internet would be and that he could take advantage of it. After a bad investment, he made a company called Confinity which Max Levchin. His big success was when he and Max had an idea to make a digital wallet that would help customers carry money safely by encrypting data on digital devices. So in 1999, Confinity launched PayPal. In 2000 PayPal merged with Elon Musk’s X.com and the biggest revenue was coming from eBay sales. In 2002 eBay bought the company for 1, 5 billion dollars. Peter Thiel continued making successful companies like Palantir Technologies, and Founders Fund. He is also a member of the USA Republican Party and he had given millions in science research like Artificial intelligence, Life extension, and Seasteading.

I first learned about him when my dad gave me one of his books ‘’ Zero to One’’. Then I started searching for him on Google and YouTube. The thing that I like about him is that even though he became a multimillionaire after selling PayPal, he continues to work on more projects and companies. Most people stop working and become lazy when they have money but he did not.

He is a great personality and is a really successful man. People like him are the ones who change the world and I believe that we all should try to be as insightful and successful as him.
