Gujarat State Tribal Education Society also known as GSTES or EMRS Society is a self governed society developed by Tribal Development Department, Government of Gujarat on 3 January 2000. It was certified under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950 vide Registration No F/676/ Gandhinagar. It has been run three types of schools namely Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS), Low Literacy Girls’ Residential School (LLGRS) and Model Schools (MS) across the state.

It was come to existence as GSTDREIS that was later changed into Gujarat State Tribal Education Society (GSTES) since 11 February 2015. Prime objective is to establishing, maintaining, controlling & managing good quality schools for talented and meritorious ST students. At present time, 85 schools are being managed by the society out of which 22 are EMRS, 2 approved under VKY of GOG functioning under EMRS pattern, 5 Ashram Shala functioning under EMRS pattern 43 are LLGRS, 12 are MS and 1 Sainik School.
