DIY Wedding Candy Bars: Some Easy Tips to Prepare

Let's be honest, weddings can be incredibly expensive. But, there are also a lot of items that you can do on your own and they tend to cost a lot less. Specifically candy for a wedding can be done right at home, it’s easy, it’s inexpensive, and it’s yummy.

Flavor: If you are making your own Candy for wedding, be sure you either know what people like; dark, milk or white or just make X amount of each types of bars, that way people will really get the one that they want! Also, make sure that IF you are using something like peanut or nuts, you warn your guests beforehand just in case someone is allergic.

Labels/Wrappers: Yes, you can definitely go online and get labels. But, these might be expensive. Instead, you can get yourself some regular candy foil and some thick paper (or glossy) and print out your own candy labels and wrappers on your home printer.

Theme and Colors: Chances are you probably have a theme or certain colors going on at your wedding. Be sure to always include that theme or those colors into the candy bar wrappers too.

Bulk Chocolate: If you plan on making something like 50 bars or more, do yourself a favor and just buy some quality chocolate in bulk. That way you can get it for a cheaper price and still have enough money left over for labels, ribbons or whatever else you want to include with the bars.

Equipment: In all reality, you really don’t need a ton of high end equipment to make chocolate bars at home. What you do need is a double boiler, a whisk, some metal "cookie" cutters for the chocolate to harden up into the shape you want it to be in and a candy thermometer.
