Blanche Neige – award-winning Swiss absinthe

After we spent quite a long time on planning and testing, we’re pleased to tell you that our very own absinthe, the Blanche Neige, is now available in a full-sized 500ml bottle.

Absinthe Blanche Neige 500ml

Blanche Neige is the name for our true, Swiss La Bleue from the Val-de-Travers, the birthplace of absinthe. This absinthe is distilled by Gaudentia Persoz, one of the world’s most talented absinthe distillers, who has achieved great success with her own absinthes.

What makes Blanche Neige that extra bit different is a precious and priceless ingredient, Génépi. This  aromatic herb, from the Wormwood family, grows wild in the Alps. What sets it aside from other blanche absinthe is the much larger variety of herbs.

The Blanche Neige won the gold medal in the category of Blanche absinthes at the Absinthiades 2014.

We’ve been searching for the perfect 500 ml bottle to suit blanche Blanche Neige for a long time, so we are very pleased to present you our final design. These are the first 500ml bottles available, and they are exclusively at Absinthes.com.

Tasting notes

Spirits aficionado Andrew White spent some time with Blanche Neige and had this to say:

Colour: Clear, with a very subtle yellow-greenish hue, hinting at rich herbs.

Aroma: Suggests the scent of an Alpine meadow carried on the breeze. Fruity and with a feminine aspect.

Louche: Builds pleasingly steadily, turning Blanche Neige evenly opaque; white without becoming chalky. Take care to add water slowly.

Taste: Well balanced. A sweet touch on the tongue, accessibly subtle anise, and pleasant light touches of bitterness from grand wormwood and génépi.

Finish: Very smooth, silky on the palate. A finish of reasonable length, with some sweet hints remaining. Further glasses remain interesting without becoming overpowering. Will interest seasoned connoisseurs and beginners alike.
