Keurig K475 vs K575: What’s the Difference?

Keurig K475 vs K575 — do you know the differences between these two similar models?

Both are part of Keurig’s 2.0 brewing system, so that isn’t it.

Think it’s K-cup comatibility? Nope.

The K575 has to have additional functionality, right? You’d be correct, but do you know which functionality?

OK, we’ll stop the guessing game and get right to it.

Keurig pulled out all the stops when designing these top-of-the-line single serve coffee makers, and now you can be informed when picking between them.

This is The Coffee Maven’s Keurig K475 vs K575 Showdown.

Keurig K475 vs K575: The Differences

There are five differences between the K475 and K575:

  1. Water Reservoir: K475 is 70 oz, K575 is 80 oz
  2. Hot Water on Demand: K575 adds this feature
  3. Display: K475 is 2.4″ black and white, K575 is 2.8″ XL color display
  4. Customizable Wall Paper: K575 adds this feature
  5. Nightlight: K575 adds this feature

The K575 adds 10 oz to the water reservoir, allows you to pour hot water on demand, and has a beefed up color display panel with a few additional functions.

Neither of these models come with the Keurig K-carafe, though (which is pretty annoying to be honest). I mean, why would you make a brewer with the ability to brew up to 30 oz but not give you the thing it needs to brew into?

Regardless, you have a couple options:

  • Purchase a model that comes with the K-carafe (try the K450 or K550)
  • Purchase a K-carafe separately, such as the thermal stainless steel for around $22

Is the K475 or K575 Right for You?

Though these two models have the small differences noted above, they’re designed for the same type of coffee drinker: Someone who loves K-cup convenience but demands the flexibility to brew different strengths/sizes and doesn’t like to be limited to a single cup at a time.

If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place.

In our Keurig K550 review we gave that model a 9.1-of-10 rating, which is applicable here because the K550 is the same as the K575, except it actually comes with the K-carafe.

Click that link to read the full review, but here’s the summary:

For those that crave total brewing freedom and flexibility, the only real shortcoming noted in this Keurig K550 review is its lack of compatibility with non-Keurig 2.0 K-Cup pods. There are very easy ways to overcome this if you’re open to “tricking” the machine, and it’s not even a concern if your favorite K-Cup is part of the 2.0 series.

That quoted text applies to the K475 as well, and it might be the better choice if you’re OK without every single top-of-the-line feature.

(Do you really need an 80 oz water reservoir or will 70 oz do?)

Keurig K200 vs K300 vs K400 vs K500

Speaking of different Keurig models, this is a great time to compare the company’s four Keurig 2.0 series, all of which are K-carafe compatible and brew up to 30 oz portions.

There will be small differences within each series — for example, the K550 comes with a K-carafe while the K575 doesn’t — but the specifications above will apply to all brewers in the respective line.
