3 Reasons Why Cleaning Your Keurig® Brewer Should Be Your Priority This Spring

At last, spring is here! It’s finally time to shake off the chill of winter and start looking forward to some slightly sunnier weather.

The drop in temperature promoting more and more hot drink consumption, it’s possible our Coffee machines have been overworked this holiday season.

With over 10 million bags of coffee being exported worldwide in December alone last year, the Coffee Machine – whether it be a simple brewing pot, a cafetiere or a pod machine – is one of our favourite domestic appliances for winter. Which is why, we want to help you look after your brewers for as long as possible; and keep them working at their best.

So, we thought we’d list our top 3 reasons why you should be cleaning your coffee brewing machine this springtime, and the easiest ways to do it.

1. Keep your machine healthy

One way of countering this issue, is to use a BestMax Treatment Cartridge with your plumbed K150 brewer. Used by multiple high street retailers, this removes chlorine and particulates as well as minimising scale deposits.

2. Maintain your water quality

The majority of a cup of coffee is actually water, therefore it’s really important to maintain the quality of water. Here at Keurig  we offer Aquagusto water filters that are simple and easy to use Ideal for manual fill models, place in the tank and they will work to  reduce limescale deposits for approximately 6 months. They even include an automatic filter change signal.

3. Don’t lose the taste of your coffee

Over time, the limescale and calcification within your coffee machine can begin to affect how your coffee will taste. One of the best ways to avoid this happening in your machine is to simply run a solution of Keurig® Descale Solution through the machine. It will remove non-toxic calcium deposits, or scales, that can build up inside a brewer over time and hinder brewer performance. We’d advise using this every 3-6 months to clean your brewer. And even if you feel your coffee machine is still making you the great coffee it always has, you’ll be saving yourself a tougher job in future to freshen it up now.
