Big Lake Yercuad


Big Lake

Known as the man-made lake and Emerald Lake, the Yercaud Big Lake is a standout amongst the most traveler attractive goals. Botanical Garden 

The best places to discover the world of flora and fauna the Botanical Garden houses, the Orchidarium and the greenhouse is home to a large number of green scientific species. It is one of the perfect spots to pick up knowledge about diverse types of plants. Yercaud is known for Kurinji flowers where the specialty of this flower is that the tree blooms once in twelve years. Situated about 2 Km from the lake, the National Orchidarium is India's third biggest ranking garden after the Orchidarium of Calcutta and Shillong. The Yercaud's Orchidarium is one of the most flawlessly maintained natural enclosures where the garden is cherished by millions and millions of gardening enthusiasts. The garden is closed on weekends.

Found on the eastern piece of Yercaud Hill, Pagoda Point is otherwise called Pyramid Point. (A better way would be to take the Bangalore highway and after the third toll gate, take a left to take the road to with a signboard showing the direction to Yelagiri Hills then proceed via Tirupattur, Harur, Uthangarai till you reach the bamboo forest at Manjavadi Kanavai. From there about in about 15 kilometres is a village named Kuppanur. Take a right turn there to reach Yercaud in 30 kilometres).
