Lambasingi is a small hamlet located at an altitude of 1025 meters above sea level in the Chintapalli region of Arakku Valley in Vishakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh that had once experienced snowfall in winter in the past, and if we’re lucky, we might get it this time as well! In fact, Lambasingi is also known by another name- Korra Bayalu, which, in their local language, means “if someone stays out in the open they would freeze like a stick!” But apart from being a stunning destination in the South that sometimes experiences snowfall in India. Temperatures may not go below 0 degree Celsius every year, but when it does, the hill treats you with the most beautiful snowfall.

The Journey By Train

Wow! What a journey-Hill train to Arakku Valley

The train line passed through 84 bridges and 58 tunnels. This broad gauge electrified line starts from Kottavalasa, a small station located between Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam stations of Howrah and Chennai main line. After crossing two small stations, the train starts climbing up the hills through tunnels and bridges. Most of the time valley falls in right side of the train while going towards Araku from Vizag and waterfalls remain at left side. On the way, you can see small and big water falls. The green valley and river combination give a spectacular view from the train. The train also passes above the World famous Borra caves, eventually reaching ARAKU in 4 hours ending your dream sequence.

What To do In Lambasingi

Visits to guava orchards, nearby hillocks and waterfalls, paddy fields were the order of the day. or just sit in the grasslands with a good book or enjoy tasty organic coffee whilst kids chased away butterflies.
