Having a Nif Number isn’t really a question of benefits. There are some things that you just can’t do without a NIF. For example: Etc, etc. Basically, a NIF number is something you need if you’re planning to live in Portugal rather than something that’s optional. Now that’s not to say that there aren’t some benefits to using your NIF number, which can result in reduced taxes.
