E’ stato inaugurato a Brembate Sopra, Bergamo, il 29 Marzo 2008, il parco d’astronomia “La Torre del Sole” , uno dei meglio attrezzati parchi astronomici italiani, con planetario e telescopi.
I programmi delle visite saranno aggiornati settimanalmente (per maggio, giugno, luglio e agosto).
Lo sapevi che :
All'interno del centro vi sono un Osservatorio astronomico con un potente telescopio rifrattore, in grado di permettere accurate osservazioni della superficie del Sole, un planetario digitale 3D con 50 posti posti a sedere, un Laboratorio solare e Astroshop (vendita di DVD, libri, fotografie, gadget), una sala conferenze di 150 posti e prossimamente un radio telescopio.
Davanti all’ingresso si rimane "scientificamente" colpiti dal «Parco dei Pianeti», una struttura in metallo, riproduzione del sistema solare a 4,5 metri d'altezza. Vengono rappresentati i nove astri con il Sole al centro.

In fase di realizzazione il radiotelescopio, una parabola di quattro metri in grado di captare i segnali radio principaliche attraversano il cosmo e arrivano dalle principali stelle e pianeti.
Visite previste per scolaresche (dalla scuola dell'infanzia alle scuole superiori) e gruppi di persone, previo appuntamento.
Per tutti a disposizione all’ingresso un centro d’accoglienza con bar, guardaroba, un negozio di telescopi e di strumenti astronomici e gadget.
Intanto sono aperte le iscrizioni al primo corso base di astronomia «Impariamo a conoscere il nostro Sistema Solare»: tre incontri da due ore l’uno una volta alla settimana, a 15 euro.

A new astronomy park was inaugurated at Brembate Sopra (Bergamo), on 29th March 2008.
The Sun Tower is one of the best equipped Italian astronomy park with planetarium and telescopes.

Passed the entrance You see the two towers; one is for the observatory and the other is for the lift. They are 38 meters high (141 steps) and they are linked by a glass footbridge.
The astronomy observatory has a dome of 8 meters diameter and there’s inside a refracter telescope equipped with a lens of 30 cm of diameter and focal length of 5 meters.
