CBBC SUMMER SOCIAL ADDS MORE ACTS TO ITS STELLAR LINE-UP JUNIOR FROOD, OPERATION OUCH, BBC INTRODUCING AND MORE REVEALED

As the biggest ever BBC children’s event prepares to welcome acts such as Mackenzie Ziegler, Union J and New Hope Club to Liverpool, Cbbc Summer Social continues to add to its impressive line-up as Junior Frood and Operation Ouch are all added to the bill.

UK freestyle champion Junior Frood is no stranger to performing in front of big crowds, after accompanying Justin Bieber on his ‘Purpose’ World Tour, the Leeds youngster has also gone on to perform on the West End with Amanda Holden. Junior Frood will perform across the weekend at Cbbc Summer Social, bringing his Locking, Popping, Hip Hop, Break dance and Street Style skills to the stage.

CBBC’s favourite twins from Operation Ouch, Dr Chris and Dr Xand van Tulleken, will be looking to educate both children and adults on the human body, at the festival. From the nervous system to a virtual reality beating heart, the pair will be live from CBBC Summer Social on Saturday, with eye-opening experiments and investigations into technology.

The BBC Introducing line-up has also been announced, bringing together the very best in unsigned music which has previousy supported the likes of George Ezra, Ed Sheeran, Jake Bugg and James Bay.

BBC Introducing will host its very own stage and deliver lively performances from acts across the musical spectrum. Expect upbeat singalongs such as ‘Data Roaming’ and ‘Small Town’ from Liverpool born Ukebox, a ukulele boy band made up of five friends who all studied in the city. Whilst indie-pop singer-songwriterConnah Evans is expected to perform his own tracks, with honest lyrics and catchy rhthms.

Other BBC Introducing acts include Harlee, Spinn, Mary Miller and Gazelle.

For those little ones who love to dance around, the infamous baby-rave – Rave-A-Roo – will be at the festival with Hey Duggee, who will be teaching families how to do the ‘Kick’ song dance.

Other activities announced, all included in the ticket price include CBeebies Bedtime Stories, Jungle Parc, CBBC Buzz photo booth, Croxteth Park’s Victorian Farm, BBC Own It workshops and Match of the Day’s Hat Trick Challenge.

If those attending are looking for a break from the live action, Parentfolk, the North West publication for modern families, will be providing a special chill-out zone at the festival complete with complimentary mini treatments in a relaxing space.

Lots of characters will also be ready to get those festival selfies, cameras at the ready for CBBC’s Bing and Elmo, as well as Mog and the Cat in the Hat.

Set against the historic backdrop of the Grade II listed Croxteth Hall in Croxteth Country Park, revelers can expect the very best of CBBC programming including immersive activity zones, theatre shows, interactive and inspiring art workshops, top class musical experiences, cool outdoor and sporting activates, junior discos, themed treasure hunts, character walkabouts, vlogger meet and greets, live appearances from the most popular children’s authors and much, much more.

Taking place 3-5 August at Croxteth Country Park in Liverpool, CBBC Summer Social is the BBC’s biggest ever kids event, and the only festival to give 6-12year old’s and their families a unique lineup of CBBC favourites, alongside a host of international music acts including Union J, Johnny Orlando, Matt Terry and Mackenzie Ziegler.
