Albert Hall to Host Manchester’s First Body&Soul Party

Disco & House legends François K, Danny Krivit and Joaquin Joe Claussell to play a one-off Body&Soul party August Bank Holiday.

Sunday 27th August, 2017.

For it’s Manchester debut, this transatlantic soul train party will be bringing on board the talents of its founders, three of the biggest DJ names in Disco & House music, Francois K, Danny Krivit and Joaquin ‘ Joe ‘ Claussell.

Established in 1996, this eclectic Dance Music party began life at Club Vinyl in New York’s Tribeca area, and it soon became one of the city’s most revered weekly parties, renowned for delivering a unique soulful mix of organic and spiritual dance music grooves.

Celebrated for its relaxed approach to clubbing and its diverse crowds of dedicated followers that encapsulated every walk of life, Body&Soul parties amassed a huge cult following that attracted over 1000 ravers a week coming to shake their stuff on a Sunday right up until Club Vinyl closed back in 2002.

Since then, the night has been on a successful worldwide tour playing an iconic gig in NYC’s Central Park to over 10,000 revellers followed up by trips to Tokyo, London, Paris, Toronto, San Francisco, Rio, Croatia and Singapore, cementing the night’s worldwide appeal.

‘The Ministry of Sound’ also released a compilation album in honour of the party’s fifteen year anniversary, that has been remixed, edited and produced by the three illustrious founding DJ’s, who have each been in the industry for over 40 years, and who have personally contributed to many of the greatest dance music records ever made.

Danny Krivit’s professional DJ status began at the “Loft”, New York’s musical centre in the 70’s which is where he began a long-term collaboration with Larry Levan of Paradise Garage and François K.

Joaquin ‘Joe’ Claussell is one of New York’s highly respected dance figures, celebrated for his work as a DJ, producer, and remixer, as well as for his label Spiritual Life Music, all of which reflect his eclectic and multicultural taste in dance music. François K.’s career in dance and electronic music goes back to the late 70’s in the New York clubs and at the disco label Prelude.

As heavy-weights in the music industry, all three have made names for themselves in Manchester playing gigs at iconic institutions such as The Haçienda and the city’s infamous Electric Chair Parties.

Organiser Irfan Rainy said:

“It is an honour to bring this celebrated Body&Soul party to Albert Hall. It’s described as a ‘church like spiritual experience’, and so there could be no better setting than our stunning Wesleyan Chapel turned music venue.

As Body&Soul also enjoys a huge cult following with the LGBT community, we thought it only fitting that this special event coincided with Manchester’s legendary Gay Pride Festival.”

This special bank holiday event will be hosted by Manchester DJ, party promoter and Rainy City vinyl label owner, Irfan Rainy. His Community party, now in it’s 10th year, has featured legends including two of Body & Soul’s DJs Danny K and Joe Claussell along with Haçienda legend Greg Wilson, South African superstar Black Coffee, German superstar DJ Motor City Drum Ensemble and Detroit’s Mike Huckaby.

Through bringing together the most illustrious names in House and Disco to the stunning setting of Albert Hall, Manchester’s first instalment of Body&Soul is set to be one of the most memorable parties of 2017.

Body&Soul kicks off at 9pm to 4am on Sunday 27th August 2017.

Tickets are priced at £26-£28.50 each and can be booked at http://www.alberthallmanchester.com/
